What?! That's awful greensad.gif does Medicaid not understand that they are saving thousands of dollars by allowing those on it to have OOH births?

Technically it's not medicaid but the auditing company they hired.

The midwives all banding together and sending in their appeals right now.

Hi, my family will likely be moving to Anchorage in a few months and I am due with my 3rd in Feb.  I know this thread is a few years old, but I am super interested in finding the travelling midwife.  Does anyone know how to contact her?  My first birth was c section, my second an amazing unmedicated VBAC, but from what I have learned I still wouldn't be eligible to birth at home or at a birthing center b/c of the first section.  I am absolutely not going to deliver in the hospital unless there is an emergency.  I suppose I would rather fly across country to deliver at my parents house than be in the hospital.  Really hoping to find the travelling midwife so hopefully I wont have to do that :)

Thanks!

I currently live in Fairbanks, Alaska. I'm looking into HBAC because I found out I can't have VBAC at the birthing center. Does anyone have contact info for traveling midwives in Alaska or local midwives to attend an HBAC. Thanks for your time.
