How does one go about moving from one island to another as far as shipping goes? We don't really have any furniture, but I do have a few items that I don't want to get rid of that are too large to ship such as a rocking chair I made for my daughter and some of her larger toys (wooden kitchen, etc.) We also want to keep our car.

We might be moving from the Big Island to O'ahu, but I can't seem to find any companies that do that. There is a company like PODS on O'ahu, but not here. I must be looking in the wrong place. It seems silly to have to get a whole huge container just for a short puddle jump with only a few large items.

And how do I ship my car? Can I pay extra to just pack this stuff in my car and ship it? I think it will all fit.

Hi, We used Young brothers. They shipped our stuff from Hilo to Oahu. It was so easy! They also took our car. It was relatively (surprisingly) inexpensive. They have small containers that are cheep. I think we used 3 of them instead of a big one. 3 was too many. We brought our stuff to their place and put it right in the container our self (hilo bay) then picked it up on their pier just past the Honolulu airport.
p.s. we were allowed to fill our cay with stuff

if you want to hang out when you get to Oahu. I'd love a "Mothering.com) friend.

Thanks! I checked them out and they DO let you fill your car with stuff, so that would be perfect! We only want to take enough stuff to fill our car, anyway. We don't have any furniture, just DD's toys and a few larger items of hers. Our current place is rented turnkey. It came with towels and everything, so we don't have much to move, thankfully. I'm so happy we can just put stuff in our car!

We'd love to be Mothering friends I'll let you know if we end up moving. If we do, we'll probably live around Schofield or Haleiwa.
