Who was the breastfeeding mom who was coming up here for work? You might be interested in Milk Share to see if there are any local moms who need milk while you are here.

Congrats MovnMama!

This fall feels AMAZING to me. The air is crisp in the morning and then it gets plenty warm during the day. Just great.

Things have been pretty busy over here. Adelaide started daycare (LOVES it), I'm working full time and it's amazing, DH started class, pregnancy is going well. Good busy, but lots of it.

For anyone in Fairbanks, our Street Outreach and Advocacy Program is putting on an art show for first friday (tomorrow. It's at Artisan's Courtyard and promises to be awesome.

As of Sept. 8 I will once again be a single parent. Don't worry, it's a good thing. I let him move in due to neccessary circumstances but I wont ever again.

congrats! I think I know who that dr is--I can't remember his name off the top of my head but I've heard very good things about him. (I'm in Homer and was looking at soldotna because i was considering delivering at the birth center up there last fall...i opted to stay home here and am glad i did cuz it was a short labor and i don't know if I would have made it up there or had the baby in the car...also there is no tub in my car and that would have sucked )

I'm glad you're doing the right thing for you, sorry that it means you have to be doing it solo. Solo is hard.

DH just had an interview with Dimond HS in anchorage, but it's to fill in for someone who is wanting to take a leave, so they won't be deciding for a couple more weeks I guess. So we are STILL waiting on the possibility of a job... but we're getting pretty settled in and finding a routine here with DH taking his classes and being home all the time. DS1 is going to do soccer and maybe band this year, so life is starting to settle into a schedule again.
DH is out moose hunting as we speak. Here's hoping he brings me back some MEAT!!! (We've got a freezer full of halibut and salmon that's he's caught this summer, but I'd really like some red meat too )

Anyone know if there's an independant lab in town to do bloodwork? FMH has screwed up our insurance stuff for the last time.

September Monthly Meeting

Prenatal Yoga Demonstration

Please plan to join us at our monthly public meeting on Friday, September 10th. Svia Rothstein from Laughing Lotus Yoga in Anchorage will be giving a prenatal yoga demonstration and talking about the benefits of practice in preparing your heart, hips, breath and mind for the birthing experience. You'll be amazed by your body's capabilities, even at full term!
In order for the group to participate in the demonstration, the play area is going to be minimized. Please arrange for childcare if you can.

Things are pretty different around here, but it's a long story.

Georgeanne, I do hope you'll drop me a line or something if you need to chat. You're precious, always remember that.

We now have a 15yo. A just turned 15, so the ages are 18, 17, 15, 9, 6, and 4. I'm exhausted all the time and still can't sleep!!

has anyone heard rumors yet about how much the PFDs are likely to be this year? (it's less than a month away )

I dont know but we sure need them after this summer of me not working. We need these PFD's to catch up with bills and get a nice savings restarted. Maybe I can pay off UAF so I can attend classes again.

I've been wondering how things were going but have been so pre occupied. It's been hard for me to be a friend lately. Hopefully that will change now. My mom had 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 kids. She could nap anywhere, poor thing.

We went to Seattle for my BFF's wedding so I also can't wait for PFDs. (Though they might not matter since we're supposed to go to Oregon for yet another wedding.)
DH has his appt with a surgeon on Tuesday! I'm seriously thinking about defrosting some BM that is in the back of the freezer for him. Has to be good for his gallbladder right?
Last week was hard since LO woke up at nap as I nursed him down in daycare. It killed me especially after seeing all the toddlers with their little bits of plastic in their mouths.
Jenn - did you find a lab? One of my friend's is a blood sucker and tends to know these things if you need me to ask?

Does anyone get really super happy eggs from Anchorage/Valley area? The more I learn about what cage free means the more I want local eggs.

One of us sells eggs in the Valley. I bought 5 dozen and they were amazing! I wish I could recall who it was.

We need to band together and make Anchorage become a backyard farming friendly community. I figure if Oakland CA and Seattle WA can do it, so can we!

Do you see Dr. Treeka (chiro)? Almost every time I go to her office there is a sign up in there about valley eggs.. someone that works in that office is from the valley I think..I don't recall more specifics than that..

1300 would be nice, that means I can get my diaper order in before the baby actually arrives. I still have a few things I need to get that I am sure wont come from a baby shower, like good cloth diapers (I got gerber prefolds last time made great stuffers though). We still need to build our bed frame even if its good exercise for my rolly polly butt to manuever out of bed in the morning (ugh!) putting off peeing for as long as I can when in bed. Heck I just really want about $100 for new yarn, I am working my stash to death for this new baby and I would like something for myself.
