I'm looking for a family practice or pediatrician in the Kenai / Soldotna area. My 2 1/2 year old boy is unvaccinated. He was staying home with Dad, but now I have to find day care - soon- and I am trying to figure out my options. Do all day cares have to take kids with religious exemption? Anybody have good experience with open-minded doctors around here? I am open to some vaccines now that he is older, but do not want to be pressured by the pace or about waiting. Fraser Gonzalo, Terri Elliott, and Rita Kolycius are in my provider network. Any experience with these doctors.
Thanks for your help and support.
I think Dr. Elliott has retired.
I have no experience with Dr. Fraser and I don't feel Dr. Kolycius resonated with my style.
Surprisingly, I really like Dr. Anderson though I hear that he gives parents a lot of grief about non-vax. I simply have never discussed our vax choices with him. He is pretty direct and blunt and I am ok with that.
Dr. Russell is an excellent pediatrician. He has his own opinions with vax. Pro-vax for the most part but is really respectful of parental choices.
Dr. Fraser is decent. I'd see if Dr. Perez of southcentral family practice is covered though... He's amazing and although he supports vaccination, he's very respectful.
I refuse to be sliced again and I'm documenting my efforts not to be.
