At any rate... I've been having horrible headaches the last couple of days and my sinuses feel stuffy (I'm thining a sinus headache) which usually comes when I'm exposed to stuff (like my dogs getting in my face) but I can't imagine this time of year vegetation would be an issue?

I don't know about up here because my allergies are wonderful up here (absolutely miserable in the South and in Michigan), but I know there are quite a few weeds/grasses that pollinate this time of year down there and mold is commonly an issue in the fall, too. Especially with as damp as this year has been. Some trees pollinate in the fall, also, but again, I don't remember exactly which ones. Since nothing has really been bothering me (compared to previous places, anyway) I haven't really kept track of allergy season up here.

oh, and on the penmanship thing.. I think as long as handwriting is legible, I don't really care if its pretty. I mean I would really like to light NCLB on fire, but as things are, with standardized testing requiring handwritten exams, legibility is important, but beyond that? um, I am not too crazy about pretty.

I never said anything about pretty. I said it was not legible.

I think I'd like a new Oct thread just to stop this line of discussion. It was a vent on my part, and has turned into a really distressing thread for me.

Ah, no P, you are doomed to forever justify your vent... : Let's get back to arguing which is better--Fbks or Anchorage!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend thus far Think we'll go climb the Butte tomorrow and check if Pyrah's has pumpkins. I kind of doubt it, though. :

um I was supporting why your dc's legibility would be important. Her tests would have to be read.

Sorry didn't mean to step on feet- been away from the thread for a while..

It snowed. Wasn't expecting snow quite this early. Don't remember getting it this early before. Not that it stuck, of course, but still. Don't know about elsewhere in the Valley, but in my yard, I swear some of those flakes were a good 2 inches across. Kids thought it was awesome. And we finally actually filled the woodbox and brought wood up to the house. Before this we would throw some in from the pile across the yard and when that was gone we'd maybe bring up a bit more.

As a homebirthing doula that sounds wildly attractive. Does anyone know about this show? Is it a real show? I don't have cable and have never heard of it. Maybe it's new. I might have gotten the name wrong as I couldn't hear that part very well. Guess I'll go look on their site before I call him back tomorrow.

I have not heard of it but it sounds awesome! I love all the DC's shows about Alaska!!!
