I thought I'd start a spin-off thread from the Shop Canadian thread.

I'll start:

Where in Canada (shippable) can I buy a hand-crafted baby hammock, similar to this?

OK, not sure if it's what you're looking for, and it's likely seasonal, but Canadian Tire had a similar hammock (like a seat hammock) advertised in a flyer in late August, for the low-low price of $14.99 (it was 75% off at the time). At the time, I was on the hunt for something b/c DD#3 was having sleep issues (just under 2 months old at the time). I thought it would be brilliant with a sheepskin in it...

http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/pr...romSearch=true

I wouldn't use it for a baby on the move, but I do think it would have been great for Gracie at the time. She has since morphed into the best sleeper evah, so we have no need for a hammock anymore.

You know, I actually have something like that that I brought home from Costa Rica! I'm not even sure where it is right now, but I might just have to dig it out and consider it, at least as a temporary early-days baby hammock. So, not shopping in Canada, but being frugal! Thanks!

CHeap, I don't know - I think it's the sort of thing that will be roughly the same price anywhere. But there is a postal code store finder on divacup.com, if that helps.

The cheapest I have every found them is for $35 Canadian at the Big Carrot in Toronto (it was on sale). I am not sure about online and I also just noticed that you are in Alberta, so the Big Carrot might not be of any help.

Best wishes

It is not canadian...but...you use a referral code coupon(I have one pm me) and get 5$ off your order, so with shipping cost it comes to 16.99 for diva cup....pretty good deal!

Hey, anyone know where I could order non-perishable asian ingredients from? I've checked all the likely sources in my city for what I want - dried bonito flakes - to no avail, so I'm thinking of ordering online if possible.

Hmmm, I may have found a source, http://suzuya.ca/ , but their shipping info page makes it seem like they are for large orders, not small personal orders. I've e-mailed them to see if they would do a small personal order.

I'm still waiting for a full answer from them...but in the meantime I had a Duh Moment, remembered DH is in the Toronto right now, and have sent him off to the nearest Japanese grocer there.

I've bought bonito flakes IRL here:

It looks like they will ship if you email or call them.

I posted on the other thread but maybe different people are reading this one. Any ideas for where to order bulk herbal teas like Red Raspberry leaf or Red Clover Blossoms?

Mom of 5: dd (10), ds (8) & dd2 (4), my sweet baby son born still 3/2/09, and celebrating the arrival of our dd 5/7/10.

I think Richter's Herbs, but I'm not sure! http://www.richters.com/

eta: I just looked on their site - if you go under "Herbs", select "Raspberry" and you will see that is the dried leaves of the raspberry plant, which of course can be used to make RRL tea. Then there is "Clover, Red" which has the blossoms!

Thanks! Despite being tantalizingly close to a Japanese grocer, DH might not make it there while in Toronto, so I may still have to order online.

I'm looking for diaper covers, and BLAH overwhelmed by the choices...give me some great Canadian sellers? I think I want some pull-ons like Dappi covers, ...and cheap. Bummis did not work very well for me last time and were too pricey - Dappi's seem to be cheap and the pull-ons are well reviewed, just would rather purchase in Canada.

I'm looking for a non-plastic cooking/dish set, you know - pots and pans, plates, bowls, utensils etc.
Any suggestions?

Cheaper nursing tanks? Bravado at $50 is ridiculous. I hear alot about the great $15 Target nursing tanks, but no Target in Canada of course. Seen anywhere else?

eta: Looks like Motherhood Maternity has a selection.
