I called them last year and asked about their IPM.

The woman I spoke with was somewhat vague, but the gist of it was that they "try to grow the strawberries organically, but if they have to use fungicide they will". I opted to get organic ones...

The Forstbauer biodynamic farm in Chilliwack has them for sale and for upick, from june on, according to their website. Never tried their strawberries before, but their blueberries are the best!

Wow, new colour scheme it seems? I like it!

Congrats on all the babies!!

Tricia, I'd love to be in on blueberries and raspberries.

Ellp: you said a jar of jam lasts you about 2 weeks. I have a problem with the jam I made last year - once I open it, it gets moldy in about a week! Can anyone tell me why it's not keeping like my store-bought (and apparently Ellaine's) jam does?

Do you put butter on the bread first?
Mine was getting moldy from the butter knife.

I second that! We picked for them last year and it was so nice to eat all those blueberries

Thanks. You didn't really miss it. There was a 3-line announcement, no story. Didn't much feel like retyping my DD's birth story IYKWIM.

I don't do anything special to the jam, I just follow the pectin package instructions. Once the jam is unsealed, I keep it in the fridge. I've never had a jar of jam go moldy on me, even when I've had it for MONTHS! (Eg. when the jar's gotten to the back of the fridge and we don't see it thus we open another one...) I usually use a clean spoon or a knife to scoop it out though, maybe thats why?
