Good luck, codaddy!

The kids were off today, so we invited siblings friends of theirs over for a few hours. It was so fun.

We are six: Me : Dh : Ds1('00) Dd('02) Ds2('05) Ds3('08) and, wow! Soon to be seven, Dd2 due 4/23.

Ugh, I'm glad it worked out. Those are scary moments.

So my dryer is dead, it needs a new heating element, or at least that is what I've figured out. With how the washer is behaving I'm not sure what I want to do.

So for ASF, Eman and ELmh- You remember yesteday I said there was one "type" of mom I hadn't cared for in my years as a nurse? Well who I took care of today? You guessed it. Way freaky. Someome called me a witch when I told them of yesterdays conversation.

hmmm, guess I missed out on a great conversation yesterday.

Emans - that totally stinks about your dryer.

So dh had both scheduled interviews and an impromptu phone interview this afternoon. He's not feeling too positive about any of them. The most promising thing is in Chicago but still a complete long shot. Ugh. But, he's getting interviews. That's a good thing, right? He should get some feedback on these ones next week.

Thanks for letting me hang out today elmh, while DH was in surgery He seems to be doing fine (the usual soreness from having surgery) so far. This is what he had done today: http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00388 Hopefully it works, but neither of us expect it to fully cure his back issues.

DD had a lot of fun and kept talking about going down the slide headfirst

COMommy - keeping my fingers crossed for you all!

It's been a busy week so far. I'll tell you guys about it in person next time I see you.

Had the repair person come out to see our dishwasher. He said it was a bad inlet valve and wanted to charge $225 to fix it (on top of the diagnostic fee)! But thankfully he was really nice and said that I could go buy the valve and install it myself. He even showed me how to do it (it's like a 5 minute thing) and gave me the numbers of two parts suppliers here in town. So I paid his diagnostic fee and will have to buy the part, but all told will be much cheaper than what he quoted. So yeah! I tell ya, not having a functioning dishwasher for nearly a month has created quite the marital dischord. We need the dishwasher fixed -- our marriage depends on it!!! LOL

DoulaRN, way cool or freaky or a sign. What part of the conversation made you a witch?

COmommy interviews are the first step and the more he gets the better.

Crazy, yikes why is it almost better to buy a new one?

I think I'm going to look for a beater dryer on Craigslist and then when the washer goes (since it's been starting to make funny sounds again spring for a new set.

Doularn, freaky!

COMommy, yay for interviews. At least he's getting some!

Blue, glad dh is doing okay. My kids had fun with C, though sorry S got cranky. She's always worst right before dh comes home from work. She's bored of me by then

Crazy, that's great that he showed you how to do it. I don't think we could handle it if our dishwasher broke.

Eman, sorry 'bout the dryer.

So I sent D out last night to look at a Craigslist dryer, he came home got out the tool box and started taking ours apart convinced he can fix it. I'm not sure that is going to work but we'll see.

Good luck Eman. Dh was able to fix a piece of ours but it took a lot longer than I would have liked. Dryers are apparently a pain to fix if you don't have the right tools (and we have very little in the way of tools so have to steal from FIL.)

Both my kids are playing happily in their bedroom and not coming to me for anything. I'm a little unsure of what to do...

Good luck with the dryer, emans!

And our dishwasher is now fixed! I bought the part yesterday (thankfully one store had the part in stock) and we installed it last night. Took du a while to get it to stop leaking, but he did and we're now golden!

While I would love to get out tonight, if one of us is leaving, it's dh. He's had a really stressful week and I think leaving him with the kids tonight by himself would just make him implode.

From reading online our dryer is apparently an "easy fix" however you have to basically take the whole thing apart. Throw in 50-100 dollars worth of parts and who knows how many hours of D's time and I'm not sure it's worth it.

Don't mess with kids playing happily.
