Hi, my name is Heather, i'm a 26 SAHM to my 18 mo son. We just recently moved to IL but it looks like in the fall we'll be moving in the fall to Longview (still not 100% on the timing but fairly certain we'll be going sooner or later).

So... any advice anyone can give me on any of the following:???

-anti-vax friendly, intact friendly ped or family doc
-naturopaths, chiropractors, acupuncturists
-midwives
- UC friendly midwives or birth center i could go to in the event of needing stitches postpartum as i intend to UC, and we're TTC right now.
- any AP meetup groups or similar?

any and all things crunchy, natural, AP, etc?
Depending on the importance of the thing, i'd be willing to drive up to an hour and a half away..

TIA!

The only thing I really know about Longview is they have some pretty parks and a nice Hot Air Balloon festival each year. After searching online, I found a few mw's in Tyler but I can't speak for them personally. Tyler is about 30 - 40 min. away from LV.

This mw apparently has a Gladewater office and Gladewater is only about 15 - 20 min. from Longview.

To be honest, I grew up in the East TX area and I don't recall too many AP type parents out there. Of course, that was years ago, but I do visit the area periodically. I don't recall seeing anyone NIP or wearing a sling, but you might try to contact a LLL group for like-minded parents. I do know we have a few people on the board from the Tyler area and I'm sure they can provide more info.

Hi I am from the Tyler area about 45 min away. I have only been to the Dr one time but I recommend the dr by my midwife Thalia Hufton. Shes the Child Birth Services link. I dont know of any AP meet up/groups. I have two other friends who do AP and we get together all the time they happen to live in my neighborhood. We all co-sleep/nurse. Like Night Nurse said I don't think they are to many of us around. One of my friends said her Ped would be good for us not vaxing cause she was thinking about doing it and she was supportive. But I don't know her name. I know she was located in Tyler. I'll try and find that out for you.
