I just delivered there on 12/13. It was absolutely wonderful. The midwives are friendly and supportive, the office staff are great to hang out and talk to as well as being very understanding and accomodating, the center itself is gorgeous... I could go on forever, but if there is anything specific you'd like to know pm me!
I tried to VBAC there in May but I was kicked out when I hit 40.5 weeks for no reason besides being past my due date. I transferred to Dr. Cummings and ended up with a RCS when I was 42 weeks. Seems like a great place to give birth to women who don't go past their due dates.
I have doula-ed several births up there. Previous poster is correct in that Jean has pretty conservative guidelines for risking someone out of her practice, but if you don't get risked out it is a great place to give birth. I like Jean and Betty.
BTW, I don't think she is taking VBACs at all anymore.
I went there and they are just way to laid back for me. I had a few appointments and every time I tried to speak with them about how I felt or symptoms, it was always normal and no big deal. It was when I started going into labor and contractions were coming quick that I called the midwife on call that set the tone for me. She totally blew me off told me to have a glass of wine, take a bath and go to bed. I am glad I did not listen to her b/c about 30 min later my water broke and I headed to the hospital. I was just really disappointed in them. Oh and every time I went in the midwife Jean would try to push her personal trainer on me. It got pretty annoying. They are very nice, but just not what I was looking for in a birthing center. I was hoping for a bit more hands on.
Good luck to you.
