Heather, Does G have any more spots?

Before you were conceived, I wanted you. Before you were born I loved you. Before you were a minute old, I would have died for you. That is the miracle of life. ~Maureen Hawkins~

Looks like pox to me!! A few more and at least a couple have fluid. Not many at all right now tho. He just told me he wasn't feeling so well yesterday. He's in good spirits, though!

Depending on the severity of the case, usually about 5 days before they are all scabbed over.

I think we're going to have a playdate on Thursday afternoon. He's getting more, but I'm surprised at how fast some of them are scabbing already. I suppose that's the normal CP cycle, though!

If he still has some on Saturday, I will be glad to have folks over then, too.

Ashley, when do you get into town?

We're heading into day 7, and finally crusting over nicely. I think it was day 4 (or night 4) that was the worst, and the following day was pretty rough. But it got better from there, especially with lots of baths (oatmeal, chamomile, and plain). He was much himself today! : We'll skip church tomorrow as I'm not quite sure they're all healed and don't want to give the appearance of showing up with full-blown CP, but it looks like we'll be all clear after that. Yay!

We did get some good exposure with a couple of other families, so on it goes.

are the spots places where he scratched/picked at or just the normal spots left over after the scab falls off? If it is places that were scratched/picked it maybe more permanent but should still fade considerably and turn more white than red. I have two spots from when I had the pox, no one else would notice them but I know where they are. Otherwise I think they will continue to fade over the next few weeks and not be noticeable very soon.

Applying vitamin e oil should help, too.

We were so glad to have you and Tristan! I think it's only been about a week, right? That would definitely be on the early side (normally it's 10-21 days, but the majority start showing symptoms around day 12, I think), but I sure hope it works!! Gabriel's first spots looked like TINY little bug bites. Much smaller than mosquito bites or even ant bites (maybe half the size of ants). Made me wonder about small spiders or other little bugs, ya know? But by the next day he had lots more and some had the blisters.

Keep us posted!!

Hey all! I have seen some posts mention Yahoo groups for Austin...I would be interested in exposing my DS to the pox, so if anyone has them now in Austin (or knows of a yahoo group where I can find a pox party), please let me know! (ETA: found the yahoo group and joined)

ETA: I will be in the Dallas area all next week, so if there are any outbreaks up there, I'd be interested

Thanks!! I totally would but I almost lost my job over chicken pox so I think I need to steer clear of any other contagious illnesses.
