I'm looking for a place to go on a personal retreat in Texas. Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences? I live in Houston, and I'm willing to drive a few hours to get there if I need to, so I guess that would open up the Hill Country and East Texas.

I'd love to find something that has access to trails for hiking or jogging, possibly has some fitness classes, a pretty location, isn't too rustic. Anyone done anything like this?

Have you looked at any bed and breakfast places? When I was looking at places a few months ago they had some really nice places. There's a place that I really want to go to. It's in Austin and has this little private room that sits up in the trees. I wish I could remember the name of it. It looked like a great place to get away and relax. Anyhow I hope you find a good place.

I've been eyeing The Crossings in Austin for awhile but looks like they're renovating until December.

Hyatt Lost Pines would probably fit your description. Or Hyatt Hill Country. Both are awesome! Lots of nature, but spa facilities, too. I've also heard good things about Barton Creek resort.

Have fun! Sounds wonderful...

Look up this place- Pine Crone Labyrinth Retreat, Bastrop, TX

it's near the Davy Crockett Nat. Forest- that's near you- right?

I haven't been to either one- but i want to!

Both would probably let you stay on solo retreat-

good luck!
