We probably won't make it tomorrow. I'm not feeling well today and if I feel fine tomorrow, dh wants to go to the zoo. I told him it'd be crazy there, but he still wants to go.

Doularn - Glad to hear L's meds are helping! Hope you are hanging in there with everything else!

tanyam - Sorry you had such a crappy day! Hope things are getting better!

Sounds like a fun gathering tomorrow! We won't be able to make it. Dh is just finishing up a nasty nasty cold, which he finally had to get abx for to kick it. Dd now has it and as of tonight I am coming down with it as well. She's taking Sinupret. I've never taken cold meds since being pg with her. We're all getting on a plane thursday though and I want to be as well as I can by then. Do any of you know if it's ok for me to take over the counter cold stuff with the breastfeeding (she's 2 and a half already)? Since she's an older baby I think it might be ok, even though she's already taking sinupret. I don't think I make much milk anymore. But with the cold she's nursing a lot at night because she wakes up stuffy and is whiny.

Peace, cold meds are fine while bfing. However, because it will dry up your nose, it'll dry up your milk some too, so don't be surprised if your supply dips some. But because your DD is older it won't be a big deal. Your supply will come back when you stop the meds. Just be sure to stay hydrated

We'll be there tomorrow but it will be closer to 11. We have the horse ranch in the morning. And I probably won't have any food since I'm having to leave the house at 8 am. :

Thanks for the input everybody! I thought it was probably ok, but it's nice to have some "back up" in making that decision!

Have a Happy Labor Day potluck at the park tomorrow!

If S2 doesn't stop coughing soon, he's going to the doctor tomorrow. I've already decided to cancel hippotherapy tomorrow. He just coughs all night long (which keeps me up all night long.) I'm feeling a little bit better today but won't make it to the park. Between dh being home and S2 coughing way to much, we'll probably be staying home.

Sorry S2 is so sick.

Blue her visits tend to be that way don't they? Sorry you are having a rough time.

Since we can't stay long we will be heading out soon.

We switched internet providers so our service is spotty. It knocks out our phone, too, since it's VOIP. Thankfully my cell phone is working just fine.

First week of homeschool survived. J is going to be a challenge. S is great with it. The little boys are learning to hang in there till mama has a minute. Let's call it benign neglect, shall we?

Glad to read that all seems to be reasonably well, or at least fairly normal. Hope the sickies pass soon.

We are six: Me : Dh : Ds1('00) Dd('02) Ds2('05) Ds3('08) and, wow! Soon to be seven, Dd2 due 4/23.

S2 is still coughing pretty badly and is now really cranky (seriously had a meltdown over me taking away his monkey towel after he got dressed.) He has an appt at 3:30. Hopefully it's just a cough and not an infection in his lungs. Why does this kid seem to hold on to coughs for so long?

S1 has off school today because of a teacher in-service thing at the Archdiocese. I can't wait for tomorrow.

So she has already changed travel plans 3 times while on the way to the airport, lost my youngest in the mall, let my oldest ride in a doll wagon and walked off saying "Get up you're a big girl" when she fell out and got hurt, left her sitting strapped in a stroller in the HOT SUN unattended while she came in to get shoes and hats, ..... bah.

You know, I love my mother dearly, she is an amazing creative person. However, we just can't totally trust her with the safety of our kids. She also is *just* starting to realize HOW sensitive DD is to the world and is struggling to find ways to deal with her.

Sounds horrible Blue! How did she lose Z? Is he running away yet or is she just that inattentive?

Just that inattentive. She lost him in a display he climbed into : I think part of it is the meds she is on; she really just forgets a huge amount, but she isn't willing to try to cut down on them and deal with her issues ina different manner. I guess the memory problems just aren't so important to her, even though *I* can see they affect her and everyone around her a great deal. I think she also just gets distracted really easily, so combined with the memory problems, it makes her seem like a total space-cadet.

Blue it's my MIL so it's easier but she is heavily medicated, and can't be trusted, she'd never hurt them intentionally she just isn't all there mentally. I don't even try, I've distanced myself enough and just accept the fact that she won't be any help, it's still sad but in some ways it makes it easier, there isn't a choice to be made.

S2 has been diagnosed with mild reactive airway disease. No meds prescribed but the doc suggested claritan or benadryl before bed. I'll try benadryl in the morning to see if it makes him crazy (it made S1 a freakin' lunatic!) If neither of those work and he's still coughing, then he'll get an inhaler.

Also, never take two kids with you to the doctor when they're "fitting you in." It was hell. And took forever.

It's like a mild form of asthma that only creeps up when he gets a chest cold or allergies. Poor kid is allergic to juniper, so we'll see how we do when that starts blooming.

And I think I'll arrange alternative care as much as possible once number 3 is here. At the very least, dh doesn't work far from here and the kids are always welcome at his work.

Oh, and after some stuff doularn and Anodyne told me about the peds at Womens, I need a ped recommendation. Who does everyone see again?

I love my guy. But he doesn't have hospital privledges and I've been warned to not trust the peds at the hospital. So, I won't need the ped until late February/early March, but it'll be nice to have a name ready to call in January.

How frustrating, Elm! We see Weston Sumner. Hillary recommended him. He's calm about vax. M likes him; I haven't been there yet.

I don't think our guy does hospital stuff like that.

So I just made two wet bags : they are going through a wash/dry cycle and hopefully they will work well. If so I'll make 4 more (I got enough pull for 6) if not I'll have to experiment with a new design.

YAY for L! That is such an improvment!

Wet bags are used to store dirty cloth diapers when you're out of the house.

Oh and forgot to tell you guys. Dh's work is thinking about sending him to South Africa from February to April. Anyone else see a tiny (BIG) problem with that? They're going to have to figure something else out.
