Is the best bet for balloon fiesta this weekend to take park and ride? I think I'm going to try to take my sis on Sunday morning (if the weather looks like it will be ok.)

I'm missing everyone. It's been awhile since we all got together. We've been fighting our first colds of the season. But, I think we are all on the mend now.

I can't believe it's already October. I have to plan S1's party soon! Crap.

For those who were at Anodyne's house earlier, S2's finger is doing okay. REALLY bruised and still swollen, but he's not protecting it or anything. I'm just so glad the nurse was there (THANK YOU Doularn!) or else we would have gone to the ER. Fingers aren't supposed to be that size. (For those who weren't there, S2 some how hurt his pinky really bad that it swelled really big, really quick. There were 5 kids in the backyard at the time and no one is sure how it happened and S2 hasn't been forthcoming with any details either.)

CO, how's the migraine?

Yikes that's scary elmh! Glad it's getting better now.

Comommy, I do think the park n ride is the best way to get to the balloon fiesta. You dont have to pay for parking and walk all the way to/from the lot, nor fight all the traffic and crowds. Yeah, you pay but I think it's worth it to be dropped off at the front gate.

Yikes! I can't believe it is October already. Where has this year gone??!! Are there any plans for Halloween yet?

I'm glad little S is doing better elmh, how scary!

COMommy - I agree, the park-n-ride is totally worth the money. I wouldn't try the balloon fiesta otherwise.

I'm trying to talk D into it for this weekend, we'll see.

R has something,

Glad S is doing ok how scary especially when they can't communicate well.

I don't think there are any plans yet, I did buy cookie cutters at the Target dollar spot but who knows if I'll actually get the time to make cookies.

Window installation is going really well, the only problem is they ordered two windows with the wrong glass, we are supposed to have replacements next week, the problem will arrise if they want me to pay them today when the job is "done". To me if you've installed the wrong product the job isn't done. We'll see how that goes.

Comommy we need to find a time to hang out it's been too long.

I love living here at Balloon Fiesta. Balloons everywhere today on our drive to school and now one just passed over our house (and has my dog all in a tizzy!) We even saw one crash on a side street off of Central. They landed on the cirb, lol.

Emans - Glad the windows are going reasonably well. Personally I wouldn't pay until the job was totally done to my satisfaction, but I'm mean to contractors that way

I love balloon fiesta time too. The balloons are so pretty and exciting to watch. Because I was in an appointment, C and DH got to watch several balloons land/take off and pack up. She was totally thrilled.

Hey, does anyone have the photos from my mamas blessing? I thought that either Emans or doularn had the camera but I don't remember. I would love to have copies of them if y'all do!!!

It doesn't start til tomorrow as far as I know. I'm pretty sure that today was the day they launch from the schools. Which means that for once, there were balloons over my house

Blue I'll check but I'm 90% sure they weren't taken by me (however if they were I never delete anything so they would be there somehow).

So the windows are done and they were totally cool with the whole not paying for wrong windows thing. So I have a wonderful looking checking account right now

I hope they get better soon Emans!

I apparently am in a really frustrated mood this morning I'm hoping it is just hormonal because I hate feeling this short-tempered and grumpy for no reason.

MIL is coming down tomorrow for her monthly visit We have so much to do around the house, plus add in a potentially very stressful dentist visit and this week should go by very fast.

Blue when my family comes it's never a help. Somehow the help always makes things worse. Do you do anything special with C's teeth now? I think I need to look into remineralizing or something for E, his visit was terrible.

So the whole family is down for the count somehow I'm still standing. D is the worst (of course) he was laying on the couch saying how cold he was, uh how about socks, a sweater a blanket.......... I am so not a nurturer with sick people.

Hope everyone is starting to feel better Emans! We do a couple of things:

As little sticky/sweet stuff as possible, like fruit leathers or a tooth brushing right after so it doesn't stick to her teeth and make the issues worse.

The big one is our toothbrushing routine. I use Tom's orange-mango toothpaste with it dipped in xylitol. I know it sounds weird to use a sweetener to brush her teeth with, but it has totally helped to remineralize her teeth. It has been really well studied and I think it is one of the biggest reasons we aren't seeing more issues with her teeth. We also make sure that if she has candy or gum (which helps with her sensory/anxiety issues), it has xylitol in it so it helps her teeth. I can tell you more - just give me a call sometime.

Speaking of dentists, we have a visit for C set up in the morning to fix a broken tooth and 2 cavities. Wish us luck - the last office/sedation visit (different dentist) was awful. Hopefully this one goes more smoothly. We are trying some new things this time to try to help her stay calm too - I just wish I had a weighted blanket!

I made a weighted blanket a while ago but made it super heavy. So while it's fun for a bit it's not so good long term.

Doularn- I hope you feel better soon!

I think my dh is crazy. We are going to drive to pueblo, co tomorrow to hopefully adopt a rottie that is at the shelter there. He found him on the website and had his aunt go see him today. She said he seemed really sweet. If he does ok with the kids, he's coming home with us. Lots of driving in one day for a dog. But, I can't say no. At least I'll get Chipotle for lunch.
