Hi!
I am going to be in Houston for a wedding this weekend, and the bride's family got me in touch with a 15 year old who will come to the hotel and watch my (sleeping) baby while I revel. When I spoke to her, and asked what she charged, she just said, "Oh, whatever. Pay me whatever." So....
what does that mean???
What do you pay teenagers to watch sleeping babies in a hotel room these days?

Me , him , and the two most beautiful little lovey girls in the world: 3/08 and 1/10. Planning our escape from the treadmill!

I pay between 8 and 10 for 3 (awake!) kids. I would say no more than 8 for a a sleeping baby.

SAHM to 3 girls

I pay $7/hr to a 14 year old for DS who just turned 3..he's awake for her shifts.

Oh, but I've met some teens in town who were getting $3-5/hr for multiple kids...yikes!

If she were a regular sitter, I was going to say $7.50-$10 depending on the work load. BUT, in light of the fact that it is in a hotel, unfamiliar to your child, and she will not be a regular sitter for you, I would pay her more like $15/hr or more. If you hired a sitting service to come in, you would be paying way way more than that.
