Hi.  I'm moving to Houston next month and I'm looking for an OB (preferably female) who is supportive of VBACs.  I'm not sure whether I can have one, but I'd like to try!  Also, any pediatrician recommendations would be great.  Thanks very much for your help.

Do you know what part of Houston you will be moving to?  The Greater Houston Area is rather large so I don't want to send you off somewhere that will be too far away for you.

A suggestion, if you are interested in going to the Medical Center would be to deliver at the Women's Pavilion at Texas Children's.  It is brand new and opening on 3/26.  The maternity center used to be in St. Luke's, the hospital next door, but Texas Children's took it over and built this brand new building for women.  If this is something convenient for you, you can try looking into The Women's Specialists for your VBAC.  The practice includes doctors and midwives and they are VBAC friendly!

I'm not too up on pediatricians, except for the ones I use in Cypress, but if this is the area you are moving to, I'll definitely give you the info!

When it comes to picking a specific hospital, I have a listing of the most current (2009) numbers for cesareans so if you are interested in finding out what the rate is at the hospitals you are looking into, please feel free to contact me and I will forward them off to you.  Feel free to contact me at any time for more information on the area:  Tina@MamaBearCare.com
