I'd love to do soap again. We're giving my SIL homemade bath stuff so I'd have something to add to the bath salts! Snowmen and COMommy's snowflakes would go well together!

I might be in on soap but someone else would have to organize - i miscalculated or someone forgot to pay or something because my "craft money" account is low. That and i am in the middle of finals and i agreed to work the doors for volleyball tourney so i am slammed with junk to do.

elm - what is s into? C is excited to go shopping

So is it wrong to want to strangle an old woman? My stepgma (my moms stepmom) drove me to drinking yesterday (but it was good wine - lol!)
She is the most obnoxious person.
She is "raising" her great grandkids.
She was an enabling mom to her son (who was a big time druggie and just passed away)
then she "raised" her sons kids - the boy has been in and out of jail/juvy since 12 the girl married a thug and has her, the thug, his kid, and her 2 kids all living in my grandparents 3 bedroom house with them.

She has an excuse for everything and sees nothing wrong with the sitch.
-Her granddaughter just had a premie - no it couldnt be all the smoking she did while pg
-her 5 year old great granddaughter is still in dipes full time - no it couldnt be that there is NO parenting in that house

she is mexican and RACIST against mexicans.

She knows someone who "got screwed for being white" because they didnt get a scholarship
- 'cept for the lottery scholarship was available but they either A - didnt put in an application or B didnt have a c average. This person wants to be an anesthesialogist(sp?) but either gets less then C's or cant fill out 1 piece of paper? Ya, no thanks - i dont want them putting me under.

Apparently that makes me a "smartist" - cuz she doesnt know what elitist is and she says i am "racist against stupid people"

I am also mean because "even people who cant read or write should get to go to collage or med school because that is fair"

I am also "lucky" that i married a non gang banging thug
and "lucky" i am smart

Oh, and i shouldnt go to school because i should be at home FULL TIME and the kids should never go to the grandparents (says the lady who had 3 generations of relatives living in her home until my uncle died and now it is only 2) She also has always worked full time and never been a SAHM - but i should never leave the house - getting an education is not important - unless you are white...and get less then Cs :

Oh and there was more and more of these lovely gems of wisdom I argued with her once or twice but i just couldnt even deal. Thank goodness we arent blood related.

Wow, ASF, she's something else. We should get her together with my MIL. It'd be fun to watch the fireworks as long as we had good wine.

S is into craft stuff (project style), princess, outdoorsy stuff (balls and what not, our soccer ball just popped), hair things and she'd probably be into dress up since I know she'll play it with R, but we have none at home.

So R is a princess dress up enabler huh She must have been switched at birth because I don't know where she gets it from.

Sorry about the nutty relative ASF, I don't think I'd hang out with an ex step grandma.

There is nothing wrong with that Eman. S is in love with pretend (she plays it about 95% of her day) so to add in dress up clothes just aids that.

photobook = photoalbum that is printed for you. You dont have to put pictures in it - you can add captions and other stuff. I did one for the disney trip and it turned out pretty cool

ASF - I never do and don't have a problem, but maybe because I use dipes that just have fleece inside. I purchased way back when a BG1.0 dipe that had a wierd lining that water didn't go through it very well, so I did have to turn that one to get it clean. So, not sure where you heard that but I think it definitely depends on the dipe.

Thanks mamas! I needed that. Y'all are great for boosting the 'ol self-esteem : I'm not sure how I feel about turning 40. I don't really feel any different, but some part of my brain says 40 is old

Are we trying to do pg this week? My MIL is in town, so I don't know if we would make it or not...

crazy - maybe look up "poo lint" on diaperswappers or something

so apparently "poo lint" can build up in the corners of the inside of pocket dipes. Ds uses his for nighttime only but i turned one inside out that he pooped in a few washes ago...

I've never noticed that either. I've been getting some "hemp balls" in a few of my inserts and wondered what they were but never had a pocket problem.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes It was a pretty uneventful day (well, except for the kazoo serenade by my parents in the am : ), which is fine. I think we are getting some salmon for a birthday dinner today.
:

I never really had an issue with the pockets, (I haven't had time to read up on the "poo issue" yet, but it just sounds gross!) and I don't wash them inside out. Occasionally I find lint buildup in the tabs, but it is really just lots of hair and lint (I rinse twice, so I doubt there is any poo left once they are done). :

Speaking of diapers, do you know of any good brands of shorties?> DS seems to pee outside the nighttime diaper, and I think shorties might do the trick for us. The daytime diapers are fine, I guess it is just when he is lying down next to me that they wick or something...

Went to the GI and I have a diagnosis! Gastroparesis. Basically, my stomach is delayed in emptying (147 minutes vs. 77 minutes) and isn't breaking things down all the way which then when they go to the small intestine, aren't able to be absorbed. I've started on Reglan to help digestion and we'll see. She said it should start helping almost immediatly.

Yeah Elm glad you have an answer, hopefully they can get you fixed up now.

There is a walk in clinic on Montgomery? (guess that answers your question for you).

Blue, I make M longies with a soaker built in, I took the Katrina quick sew pattern for a soaker, then maked longies to go over that, then sewed them together at the waist. That puts 3 layers of fleece in the wetzoe and two layers the rest of the places. I also have her in a truely HUGE nighttime diaper to soak up everything. I've tried to tell her the nighttime dipe would be trimmer if she'd nurse/pee less at night, but so far that isn't working.
