TCM/Acupuncture in North Dallas/Richardson/Plano? - Mothering Forums

Hi!

I'm thinking of going for acupuncture/TCM. I'm just starting TTC and I feel like something is off balance. I'm not sure that I need a TCM "fertility specialist," but at least someone who is good at getting the energy flowing.

Also, I would like someone who will not hassle me to eat meat or dairy products.

The first person that comes up when I search on google is Dr. Lin Zhou. Is she to be recommended or avoided?

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Jane Liu. She has an office in Plano (I believe on *******?) and an office in Frisco. Even if you have to drive I promise she is worth it. I went to her for severe female issues and I was pregnant 4 months later. Did not think I would ever get pregnant..but besides that, she totally eased my pain, was wonderful and easy to talk to, and there was so much less stress in my life just going there! She was trained in China and she is fantastic. Her husband works with her in her office and he mixes herbals and does chiropractic as well. I cannot say enough about her. If you google her, she has a website. Her speciality is fertility issues or other women's issues and the first time I went to her, I asked her what her success rate was, and she told me there was a lady she couldn't help once. ONE. So go for it! Oh, also when I was pregnant I could not stand meat and she did not say I needed to eat it. So no worries. I think she will be able to help you.

I saw Dr. Alan Chen, also in Plano off 15th I think? His phone number is 972-599-0852. I was already pregnant and having back problems and he did wonders. I don't know how he is with your concern. He also accepted my insurance, which helped. The other woman sounds like it may be a better fit, but in case it doesn't work out, there's another option.

Thanks for your backup recommendation, Mama21sofar!

I just saw Dr. Liu for the first time today, and she seemed good and attentive. The office was pleasant and professional. So, I have every reason to feel hopeful.

It was $70 for the acupuncture and $25 for 2 weeks of herbs, and she wants to see me every 2 weeks. I'm going to try it for a couple of months. It's an investment in my health that I'm fortunate right now to be able to afford. For anyone else that wants to see her but can't afford $200/month, I think she will do either acupuncture or herbs if you don't want to pay the price for both.
