Hi,

I am interested in hearing what you spend on your utilities, and the
name of the providers.
I am really interested in the Couer D' Alene, Post Falls, Idaho area, and the
bordering towns in Washington state.
For those of you, renting and your heat & maybe hot water is included,
do you consider it to be a better deal instead of getting a lower rent payment, and you controlling your utility costs?
What do you think? Thank you.

I live in Airway Heights (right outside Spokane). My rent includes water, garbage, power, phone, cable, and internet. I think it is a great deal! It makes it so easy because I know exactly how much my bills are. Plus I get the things I love (like internet, cable, etc) but couldn't afford before. It is also furnished here (although small) so I have everthing (plus an AC) I need.

Before I moved here, I lived a mile away (still in Airway Heights). My water was $30-40, my garbage was $10, my power was $75-125. I had to get rid of internet, but when I did have it, it was about $60.

sorry to you OP and earthyamber for not getting back to your PMs yet!

As for utilities.

I own a home in Airway Heights (just west of Spokane).

my water bill is a low of $18 and high of $55 in the summer. it only gets that high if we water all of our lawn in the really hot months or fill up a pool. We don't have sewer (septic) so we don't have to pay sewer fees (which are VERY HIGH in airway). Our 2000 sq/ft 2 story is heated with gas and the rest of our power is electric. Our Avista (gas) is on budget billing. We pay $78 per month year round. Inland Power (electric) is budget billing at about $35 per month year round. That will surely go up a bit this summer because we are getting central AC installed. Garbage is a seperate cost and is $9 per month for one can. We recycle most of our garbage and drop it off ourselves so it's free.

As for phone and whatnot. We bundle through Qwest who is now linked to Verizon for cell service and Direct TV for satelite. Between home phone, long distance, high speed internet, mid range satelite TV programming, DVR, and 2 cell phones on the mid range plan we pay about $220 per month.
