The Spokane threads always quickly disappear so I thought I'd try to get something going again. For anyone who considers themselves on the eastern side of WA. Lets do some networking and chat a bit!

Spokane, Omak, Grand Coulee, Tri-cities, Clarkston, Ritzville, Moses Lake, Chelan, Dear Park, Newport, Tonasket, Cheney, Colville, Walla Walla, Pulman, etc..... where are you!?

I'm an E WA mama, hence the sunny side of the mountains saying.

Actually I consider myself more of a North Central Wa mama, but whatever.

The weather is good and cruddy today, it has just been kinda a weird spring.

this winter was insane so at this point I'm happy to have any decent days. It was pretty nice here today. A little chilly in the shade. Tomorrow is supposed to be mostly sunny and 66.... we'll see. Hope so! I'm hoping to get out in the yard and do some planting. My luck it will freeze some night next week and kill what I plant. :

just did my planting today. I THINK I'm safe from freezing now. It's supposed to be 80 tomorrow, monday, and tues. ICK! too soon for that as far as I'm concerned. I would love 65-75 year round. Not gonna happen here for sure.

I'm just west of spokane btw. It only takes me 10 or 12 minutes to get to downtown.

and yes, we had waaaaaay too much snow this past winter. Roofs caving in all over town! I was stuck at home for about 4 weeks straight. My car couldn't even get from the garage to the road. And even city streets were impassable in my low ground clearence car. It all happened right after ds was born so I really didn't feel much like going out and about anyway.

Are you in the Omak area?

My aunt an uncle that were origionally from Omak now live in Tonasket. My dad grew up in Omak and left to join the military in 55 when he graduated hs.

If you're between tri-cities and yakima you must be getting some pretty hot weather this weekend! Hopefully you're ready for it.

Last frost date is technically May 15, so just be on the lookout.
I don't dare put tomatoes or peppers or anything heat loving outside until Memorial Day weekend, but I am a bit chillier over here.

Hi~
We are headed up to the Sasquatch Festival from San Francisco Bay Area and trying to finalize plans.
The older kids(ds & his gf) are going to camp and go to all 3 days of the show, but dd(4yrs old) & I are only going to the Sunday show,
so thinking of staying in Ellensburg... checking out the children's activity museum and explore.

Can any of you Eastern Wa mamas tell me how the drive is from
Ellensburg to the Gorge Amphitheater? Is it too far or too hard of a drive to do in the evening after a show? (scheduled to end 11:30pm)
When I look at googlemaps I see I would be traveling over a mountain range... so wanted local advice.

Thanks in advance! :

ps- I haven't posted in awhile & I just realized dd weaned and I still have have her doing the flyby nursing in my siggy---lol She still speaks of booboos fondly- so I guess it can stay for awhile

Does MDC have a Spokane meet up group? We have a small group of moms from DS that meet up almost every week.

There's a couple new AP families in town- I think a big get together (after the in-laws leave- ergh!) would be a good thing!

Anyone else NOT enjoying the recent hotter than average weather? The older I get the more mild I like it. At this point I'd be thrilled with 68-74 degrees year round. Anything over 80 just makes me uncomfortable.

LOTS of animals wandering in close this year. The nasty winter had them pretty hungry I assume. We're swarming with whitetail and mule dear around here.

I'm out here in Airway Heights. Just been busy with school (I go to SCC) and life. My car broke down on me....blah. So, I will be carless again for several more months since I don't have the money to fix it. I am nearing my finals this quarter in school, so I have been ultra busy!

I also don't like this hot weather, I miss Seattle!

Amber (31) - Married to my high school sweetheart for 13 years, mom of 4 amazing kids (ages 12, 8, 3, and 16 months), homeschooler, and expecting our 5th child around May 18th!

I'm a Spokane mama, and part of the a mamas group here in town (spokanemindfulmamas.com). There is a meeting on the south hill weekly, and every other week out in the valley. Everyone is welcome! There was also talk of a toddler group starting in the Fresh Abundance building - anyone know anything about that?

My girls and I drove home from Colorado yesterday, so we are just glad to be home. DH slacked on the garden while we were gone, but I think i am going to be able to salvage most things...

Ivory, partner to Tom, mama to Ella (12/9/05), Alice (12/8/07), and our newest addition, Rebecca (4/1/10).
