I'm on a reduced work schedule for summer and our dd just turned two. Now might be a lovely (or at least more convenient) time to catch chicken pox.

If anyone has them in the Puget Sound area please let us know! we don't mind her just getting them when she gets them either, but if we can plan it, all the better.

I hope someone's in the same boat so that we can pay it forward should we catch them! Thanks!

We are scouting too, especially with friends on the east coast having several Pox outbreaks!

We live in Montana and we are looking too. Some parts of Montana are pretty close to Washington and Idaho, so we will let you know if we get anything over here. We have a thread going too:

Hey, Bumping this because I'm looking too!

I have my daughters' checkups today (6mos and 3y) and I'm going to ask if she thinks it's okay to expose them now... I know the littler one is a little young, but my BFF is TTC and I'd hate for them to get it while she's pregnant... she also needs her 3yo exposed! So this summer feels right to me.

I'm also going to ask if she knows of anyone who HAS the pox and is throwing a party... i don't think HEPA allows her to tell me... but maybe I can have her tell the other parent that we're interested? Worth a shot right?

I'll let you ladies know what I find! We're in Kirkland and I reeeeally hope I come back this afternoon with good news! I wonder if evite makes a pox-party card...

Lol to this! Maybe you could make a custom card....

I hope they get here soon. I'm applying for a new job so my summer is quickly disappearing. Though I really don't mind taking a week off.

They are in the Spokane area, and we were exposed today. We'll know in 2 weeks whether they took...

bumping and a little info.

My dd is 18months, but I am starting on the look out early...as I am realizing this could take a while. I am hoping for her to be a little bit older (2-3yrs)...but if something falls into my lap...gotta get on it these days!

Are you willing to host a pox party? We are in Vancouver and i'll have to ask hub if he is willing to drive that far. We've tried 2x to get pox without luck so far.

Yep. We just had one for Oliver, but only a few people were able to come because of the heat and timing, I think.

I'm not 100% sure yet if Ciara has the pox, and I'm keeping an eye on them. They're still small, red and flat. It probably is, but I want to be sure before I start telling everyone to come all the way down

I'll post on here if it develops.

I'm adding myself to the scouting list. In Seattle with young ones. No bumps here, but if you've got 'em we want 'em.

I'm still tempted to come down there. Hmmm...
OR... if anyone can come catch 'em from her and bring them any closer to the Seattle area, that would be super.

We have potential pox in Bothell. My 1 year old has spots but we arnt 100% sure yet, since he also has a heat rash in addition to it and well...we just arnt sure yet! His doc said it looks like it could be, but he doesnt have a ton of spots yet.

In any case, he also has 3 older sibs that will get them if he does have them, so we should have plenty of opportunity for pox parties!

I'll update if its definately pox!

Oh, gosh, I'm so excited! This is like my birthday.

Goodness that's sad!

Good luck to everyone. If they come as close as Seattle/Olympia (gee, even Vancouver) then we'd like to get together.

Now I'm not sure if she has them or not! Frustrating! They're still small and mostly flat, and haven't progressed like my son's did.

Sorry I didnt update yet. I still have no idea WHAT my ds has. I'm doubting its chicken pox, but I really have no clue what he does have if it isnt. If it is, I'm sure my older kids will be getting it, so then I'd know, but...yeah, I dont think it is. If it is, it'd have to be a super mild case-he has a couple spots on his face, the back of his neck, several on his arms, and maybe 2 on his belly. Thats it. They've all been there for a good 4-5 days now though, and his heat rash went away the day after the spots first appeared.

I really dont know what to think!
