This isn't the answer you're looking for, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway. We had a UC in Beaverton OR. I took our newborn to the nearby pediatrician for the PKU test when he was 14 days old. I didn't want to deal with all the "what vaccines are you getting?? when will you be coming back for them??" etc. questions from them so I simply said "we have a regular family doctor we're taking the baby to, but he couldn't fit us in in time for us to get the PKU done, so we're getting that here with you guys but going to our regular doc for well baby checks". Everytime they asked me anything about newborn tests, procedures or vaccines I just mentioned our family doctor is taking care of all that. It actually worked out just fine, they didn't question me hard or anything. I had to pay $55 for the test (...honestly I can't recall why our insurance didn't/wouldn't pay for it....).

Good luck, I hope everything works out for you guys!

I'm in Salem and would be willing to order and do the newborn screening for anyone that has a UC birth. Just to put that out there.
