So excited to be starting a post here that isn't related to finding a pediatrician! How you doing today? The weather was a little wonky today, no? The sun would come out, and then 5 minutes later it was sideways rain. Just glad to not be waking up snow

Yeah, I heard it snowed here this morning, but all I saw was rain.

I'm not looking forward to another week of this, that's for certain. We need showers AND sun in April for those May flowers!

Is anyone doing anything creative for Easter? We're not folks of faith, and DS is too small to understand holidays just yet. I think we might try brunch at our favorite neighborhood bakery, but that's about all we have planned.

My mom used to make sourdough pancakes every Easter morning. I wish I had thought to get the recipe from her!

Lurking. Again.

Oh wait. Anybody hit the JBF consignment sale in PDX there or the Cousin's Closet consignment sale in Beaverton? Thinking of coordinating our next visit to hubby with those so I can stock up on next-size-up clothes...

hola. the rain is killing me too. or maybe it's just the COLD. it feels so freezing outside. warmer rain might at least feel somewhat spring-ier. but really, i go a little cuckoo without sunshine.

Jessica, I'm totally with you! I can't believe we're having so much rain without a break. It's supposed to be relatively warm and sunny on Wednesday, so I'm hanging on to that thought and trying to think of what to do outside that day.

I have been freezing all week! We went out for a little while on Sunday, to play kickball and ring toss (new games from the easter basket) but we had to bundle up and only lasted 1/2 hour or so. We did manage to take the dog for a long walk in between rain storms (can I just say, a tired dog is a good dog ). I haven't done anything in the garden. Every time I think I am going to dig it up, it gets cold and windy.
The sky has brightened up for a minute, but it probably won't last.

When I'm outside, I'm fine usually, maybe a little chilly. In the house, I'm sweating. I'm so hot all the time. UGH!

Same here. And I'm itching to start getting the beds tilled/things planted. I'm just a bit worried about my peas, we had frost on the ground on, was it Saturday? It wasn't very much, but I haven't seen anything coming up yet. My strawberries look downright miserable

So nice to see a little fledgling April thread Portland!! I'm going to try to be around this month. I miss having other mamas to connect with.

We went to Manzanita for Easter weekend. It was cold and rainy but we just holed up and drank hot chocolate and played chutes and ladders. nice to get outta dodge for a few days.

I actually have been digging the rain (don't hate me!). I am in total love with how it sounds on my roof. I will miss falling asleep to that noise when it's gone.

Congratulations to all the preggers!!! New babies are soooooo exciting! I despretely want one more and am in crazy wanting to get preganat mode. Unfortunately Jeremy is NOT on board. *sigh*

When I first read that I added an "in" as in, you have been digging IN the rain. And I didn't hate you, I just thought to myself "that is one crazy gardening fiend!"

I like the sound of the rain too, for as much as I hate the actual stuff. At nighttime, bring it on. The wind has been making marvelous noises with my chimes, but I won't be sad to see it leave either

It's gotta be!! We were shocked for sure when we found out, but we all are so excited for July to get here! We don't know what the baby is, which is so much fun waiting!!

We don't know this time either. Although I had a pregnancy massage today (so nice!!!) and one of the ladies pulled out a pendulum and told me it was a girl. We'll see.

So happy to have a morning of sunshine FINALLY! We got the foundation for our new chicken coop laid. I'm so excited. And DS had lots of fun eating grass and dirt, and picking the petals off of flowers

It WAS a beautiful day! I looked at the weather forecast and it's supposed to get beautiful starting Saturday, and last for at least a few days! YAY!

So, I'm not actually in PDX but since there hasn't been a SW WA thread for ages I've been PDX crashing the last few months.

I don't really see many (or any?) of the names I used to around here, but anyway I'm Karyn. Some of you I recognize from my DDC. Nice to unofficially meet the rest of you.

Still in the Grove...housing prices suck, so we won't be moving anytime soon. But at least we've got a house and area for the kids to run.

I thought I'd this a little.

I have my first appt today with a dr that's been recommended numerous times by different people. I'm hoping that this time, I get the birth I want. My appt is at 2. Wish me luck.

Hey everyone

It's nice to see a Portland thread up here again.

We're out on Hayden Island now, so would totally love to get to know more people (since we were out in Newberg before), and get out and seeing what's around.

Hi everyone.
I joined this thread long ago when I first moved to OR in an attempt to meet some people in the city. Then my life as a midwifery apprentice got crazy and I surrendered to my work and family. Now I'm actually in Portland and at a turning point in my life and am so ready to spend some time investing in this city.

We are in Sellwood and would love to find friends to explore the parks and trails around us.

Peace,
Kailia

Hi Kailia, I think I remember you on the Westside thread awhile back. You were in McMinnville, right? How old are your boys? Are you on Facebook? I am on there a lot more than here; my FB is facebook.com/nicole.murray

Dr Andrews. You were one of the first people to recommend him, if I remember correctly. He's great! Not quite as optimistic about VBA3C as I'd like, but willing to work with me a bit. As a whole though, I'd have to say that he seems like a really nice guy. Very friendly....although the receptionists don't seem that bright lol

South Korea in 2 weeks!!! I don't feel like I've planned enough, in comparison to our trip to Japan. It's almost unsettling.
