Hello All!

I am a mother of a 5-year-old son living in the Portland area, and I am looking to expose him to the chicken pox. If your child has it, or if anyone you know has it, please reply with contact information so that we can arrange a playdate. Thank you for any help you can offer!

I made the mistake of posting this on my local Craigslist and received a firestorm of hate-mail and allopathic propaganda about how 'dangerous' this is. Although I've been a reading Mothering for ages, I didn't realize that there was a forum. Fortunately, some kind soul from Craigslist told me about it...and here I am!

I am truly happy to be here amongst like-minded parents who really 'get' the idea of natural, healthy parenting.

I live in The Gorge near Hood River and would also be interested in finding a pox party so my girls can be exposed. We drive to Portland on Saturdays, but would gladly make other arrangement for a pox party )

Thanks

If anyone is so lucky to get chicken pox PLEASE PM me. We need 'em and don't have high hopes that it will happen by chance. Thanks

Possible Pox in Shelton Wa (45 min from oly, 1 hr from bremerton/silverdale areas) should know more soon. DD developed an itchy red rash on her body that didn't really raise my eyebrows but when she got blisters on her face tonight that did catch my attention. Will assess in the morning and post an update. Crosses Fingers!!

Looks like we do have chicken pox! At first it seemed like she was only going to get the few blisters on her face and it was going to pass quickly but we have 2 new pox on her arm tonight. I know this is bad timing with Thanksgiving and all but I would be willing to meet up with mamas on Fri or Sat

Me too me too! We are from the Tri-Cities WA area but are willing to travel to pretty much anywhere in the NW if the timing is right.  We have grade school kiddos and are feeling the need to get this done soon.

I was reading all your posts about chicken pox parties. My name is Marilyn Deutsch and I am a reporter with Fox 12/kptv (and a mom)-- I am trying to do a story on this and why some moms prefer this to the 15 year old vaccine. I think it's an interesting story -- and it's kind of like back to the way it used to be when i was a kid and got chicken pox from by brothers or vice versa -- not sure. I would like very much to talk to you about this -- either in this thread or you can email me at marilyn.deutsch@kptv.com. Thank you for your time. Marilyn Deutsch Fox 12 Portland

My name is Brittany Weiner. I am a producer at KTVZ in Bend, Oregon. I am looking for parents that are looking for chicken pox parties for their children. I would like to talk to you about why you chose this route instead of a vaccine? and what the parties entail?

If you would like to share any information with me or could do an interview please send me an email at Brittany.Weiner@ktvz.com.

Thanks!

Did you ever get the story on the chicky party?  I am looking and it seems we are rather disconnected since the vac came.  It's seems more difficult to get in touch with the germs.  If you can steer me there I would really appreciate it.  Angela
