Hi, we're in redmond. DD will be starting first grade next year. I was wondering what happens in this area if you turn in a vaccination exemption form in the public schools. Is it accepted without question, or is there any possible harrassment from the school or cps?

Hi, thanks for the info.
Did you have to write a statement explaining why, or was there just a form to sign?

Thanks.

You sign the back of the immunization form

This is a tree on fire with love, but it's still scary since most people think love only looks like one thing instead of the whole world. *

All you do is check a box and sign. I haven't had an issue yet with preschools, daycare, public school and private - no questions!

Happily married to my dh, mama to ds1 (01/2005), ds2 (07/2007)  and dd (07/2009).

I've been signing the form for 7 years now with never a problem. I did get a call this year from the school nurse at the middle school- dh answered and said "no, we aren't just behind on her shots, yes we know we can get them at the health department, no we don't intend to".

I'm in Kirkland, so there is a good chance we're in the same school district (Lake WA) and I have not had any issues. Just check the box and sign the form!

Thanks everyone!

We were debating homeschool vs public school vs private school. DD is now going to a private Japanese kindergarten, and when I signed the vaccination exemption form, they were shocked, but they didn't give me any trouble.

If she goes to public school, I think she will be going to Audobon Elementary. I think that's Lake Washington District.
