Hi! My first post in this tribe. My partner and I are planning to move to Seattle with our two kids later this year. I am considering getting certified to be a post-partum doula, labor doula, and/or childbirth educator. However, before I put the time and expense into certification, I want to make sure there is a need for it. With the Seattle School of Midwifery right there I was concerned that the market might be flooded already. What has your experience been?
Secondly, I was wondering if anyone had tips on what certifying organization seems to be preferred by moms out there. The two I'm most heavily considering are DONA and Childbirth International, but I'm open to other suggestions as well.
