I really need help dealing with my daughter!  I think a parenting class is in order for DH and I, but I'm hesitant because I'd really like something GD, positive discipline, non-punitive, etc.  Can anyone recommend something in Portland?

How about Sheri Louis and her "mindful parenting" classes. I think they happen often and I've heard great things. - just inquire about the next class.

Also check out "Simplicity Parenting"  and the book of the same title by Kim John Payne - there are local parenting support groups with leaders trained in "simplicity parenting". I personally think very highly of it.

Good luck on your journey and I think it's great you are willing to pick up some more parenting skills!

I love the online classes from the Consciously Parenting Project!

The Nurtured Parent parenting classes are great:

They are co-facilitated by the founders of Wild Lilac Child Development Community. (One is a social worker who focuses on parenting and they both have backgrounds in early childhood education).

I know this is an older thread, but OP did you find a good class?  I'm looking for one for my husband and I.
