We are planning a weeklong vacation from Oregon's Willamette Valley to Kalispell MT. We are stopping in Athol ID to go to silverwood theme park and and staying a day or so in Farragut St. Park in ID to play outside. the last 3 days will be spent w/ my DH's Mother in Kallispell MT. but we need some stuff to do along the way there and back. Just a quick 1-2hr stop. Mostly looking for stuff along the highways, 84, 395 and 90. Please let me know if there are any good sights to see!

Spokane has Riverfront Park, and Mobius Children's Museum right there by the park in River Park Square (on-street metered parking is typically less expensive than the parking garage if you don't mind a little hike).  I-90 goes right through Spokane.

Lake Cruises on Lake Coeur d'Alene, through the CdA Resort.  Nearby it is Tubbs Hill if you want a fun place to hike.

If you go a bit north of Silverwood, there's Sandpoint which is a cute little town.  Haven't been there in ages though.

Sierra Silver Mine Tour in Wallace, Idaho off I-90.  There's also the Oasis Bordello Museum, but that may not be appropriate for your kids quite yet.

There's the Cataldo Mission in Idaho off I-90.

If you want a slight detour, there's Emerald Creek Gardner Area in St. Maries, Idaho if you want to go digging for garnets.

There's a Buffalo Wild Wings in Missoula, MT, if that's anything fun for you (my hubby hits BWW on business trips since there's none nearby).
