I am currently 12 weeks pregnant with my second (and third). I was in the process of interviewing midwives when I had an ultrasound at an OB office informing us we're having twins. I was devastated. I'm crazy excited for the twins, I'm crushed that having my homebirth is going to be such a battle. Every midwife I've seen (before and after the news) has said they do not do twins. And twin birthing is illegal in birth centers in WA. If I deliver in a hospital here, I have a mandatory epidural and am delivering in an operating room, no exceptions. My heart and brain are fighting so hard against this.

Does anyone out there know of a midwife that will deliver twins at home around the Puget Sound? Anywhere in the Northwest?

Where in WA are you?  I was wondering if maybe you could find an OR midwife willing to come to you.

I don't know if things have changed in the last 3 1/2 years, but I had a friend who had twins at Evergreen.  She did have to deliver (push) in the OR, but an epidural was not mandatory at all.

Happily married to my dh, mama to ds1 (01/2005), ds2 (07/2007)  and dd (07/2009).

Another recommendation for Suzanne Thomson as I know she delivers twins (assuming nothing has changed for her in the last few years).
