Oh no, hope your afternoon got back on track. Malia didn't want to sleep in the car, I think it was because she didn't get enough lunch, but she finally fell asleep when we were almost home and then I brought her upstairs and she slept until 4.

I am just :, really!!! Salila had a blast too, which was really good, she was a bit bummed by big bro going to school this morning.
Hedy, Salila can't stop talking about Lily & something about having a "dinner party"...wonder if they will make one of those gravel cakes ?
Mateo had a great time too, he wanted to know if we could come back tomorrow and have a playdate with the girls.

OK. I can't do 5th grade math. Does anyone know what this means?

Place a comma where needed in each. Then write the period name for the underlined digit.

34259 . No where does it explain what the heck a period name is. This is page 1. The only examples are of place values.
my *guess* is period name means 1's, 10's 100's, etc.

nevermind, teacher's answer was pretty good. if anyone ever called it that, but it makes sense.

Ugh. I don't think we will be able to make it after all. Gut issues. Remind me to always pack vegetables and fruit when I go places. Three days of... recreational food make me a sad, stinky panda.

ok ladies i need some help.
something is up with my left breast. its never been the producer like the right one is.
it almost feels like the milk has just been slowly accumulating and turning to hard butter or something inside my lobules. i can express only a few drops at a time by hand, the other sidei can express a stream.
lately its been really painful, same with my nipple. especially the tip. which may have something to do with niamhs new crappy toddler latch, it HURTS. i have to correct her latch over and over and over each nursing session just to not want to claw my own skin off.
but my breast hurts. deep down. in one of my hard lobules.
yes, all of them are hard.
i want to go see a breast specialist, maybe get an ultrasound, just to abate my worries.
this is also the breast i had a lumpectomy on in 01.
i am sitting here just shaking cvause i am admitting i am scared of having breast cancer, but not knowing it because i have cheese tits.

Just remember that most things we are terrified about, never happen. It is always a good idea to have your breast looked at by someone if you are having concerns. It sounds like you have a clogged duct in there, thus the hardness and pain. Have you tried all the basics for clearing a clogged duct?

Tiff Definitely get yourself looked at, I'm so sorry you're in pain. I'm sure that the statistics are in your favor, re: cancer, but I know how awful that worry is.

all of them are clogged, they are all full and hard. have been since i started nursing Niamh. they just get bigger.
i have tried her nursing in different positions, warm/hot compresses, trying to express in the shower, even tried sucking it out myself.
the biggest problem is most of hte ducts, and the area at the nipple that leads to the ducts, are full of this hard white breastmilk, have been for a long time. nothing has ever helped, not heat, not breast compressions, not nurse nurse nursing (that makes it worse) on that side. massage doesnt help, not even DH trying to get it out helps.
its not just one clogged duct. its ALL of them. only one outlet on my nipple actually lets anything through.
it just keeps getting bigger and harder and more uncomfortable.

everything that happens with my breasts is mostly due to the reduction, and on myleft side, also from the lumpectomy.
alot of stuff was severed, and i think in my left breast, things just didnt recanalize.
but of course there is that OMG what if it is cancer?! fear in my head. and then, "will it always be like this?" will my breast always be hard with ping pong ball sized lumps in it? if so, what if i DO get cancer, how would i tell?!

Tiff. Have you been to Dr. Ed? He has ultrasound equipment in his office, and could probably administer one during the same appointment as the exam.

Well, Ryan and I met with the clinic person. It went fine. I warned her that we might just listen to what she says after she meets Nico and then walk away, never to be seen by her again. She didn't flinch, so that's a good sign. And she says that she sees plenty of kids that are perfectly "normal", and they just don't come back. I was a little nervous that they might always try to find something when people bring their kids in. So, next Thursday we'll bring Nico in. I've got a pretty good feeling that things will be fine, at this point. :

yikes that sounds SO painful tiff. they probably are milk ducts that have been severed but still make milk. the duct to nowhere...eek! i wonder what they do in that case? cancer sounds super-doubtful but you might have impacted milk.

your meeting sounded positive sarah

Just a tip, Hedy - bring a bottle of prune juice with you in your cooler or to keep in your motel fridge. A small glass a day will really help relieve some of your travel woes.

Tiffany - thinking of you. an ultrasound will probably give your mind some rest and relief. Not a bad idea.

Sara - I'm glad the initial meeting went well. What's the next step going to be like? Is it the actual evaluation.

(Nico is so adorable and joyful - it was fun to be around him yesterday )

Man, I'm tired.

And bored.

And we leave for a camping trip tomorrow after I get off of work. Can't decide what I should do today vs. tomorrow.

Blah.

Awe, thanks. You know I'm smitten by you and Sophia too.

Yeah, the next meeting will be with Nico. We'll all be in her office, which is a small room with her desk, a seating area, and a small kids area. It should be interesting. I might bring some snacks or something. She'll just be watching Nico, Ryan, and me interacting with each other.
