52 Dry Erase Puzzle Pieces
review by leeann meredith
My four year old loves these puzzle pieces. We got them to help him with his counting and alphabet but we've found many other uses, There are enough pieces to write both upper and lower case letters for the alphabet. He immediately began to sort them. First, he divided them by upper or lower case. Then, he sorted them by letters. We wrote the numbers one to ten. He put them in order. Then he surprised us by taking a number out and asking us to guess which number was missing. Later, we wrote the letters in his name and he put them in order. He wanted us to write other words he "loved" such as Lego or cat. He stayed engaged for over a half an hour.
The pieces are lined the same as sentence strips teachers use. The puzzle pieces fit securely together but are easy to put together and take apart.
This could be used for older children with mixed up words from a sentence. You could also write math problems and let them write the solution or pick the correct solution from three or four choices. It would be great to practice spelling words for homework.
This is a great tool to keep learning happening during the summer.
My only complaint is the marker sometimes erased so easily that you could no longer read what was written.
