Good starter wrap Edit

Pros Cons
  • available through mainstream outlets (ie Amazon)
  • Little too stretchy

I registered for this wrap when I was expecting my first child, before I knew anything about being a mom or babywearing.  Dd turned out to be very fussy, and I wound up wearing her in this sling almost all day, every day for her first three months.  It was easy to learn, and the stretchiness helped to compensate for my then underdeveloped wrap techniques.  I have very fond memories of having dd tucked in there; it was one of the surefire ways to calm her, or, at least, help us both feel connected.

As dd grew, the wrap became somewhat uncomfortable and unsupportive.  I felt better moving her from it into a mei tai once she was big enough.

I own two mei tais, one from My Karma Baby and the other is a Sachi. Karma Baby doesn't make mei tais anymore and I'm not sure that Sachi is even in business anymore. Though, for the record, I loved them both and wore the heck out of them.

Nice to have this info - that it may not be the best for an older babe. I'll have to look at the mei tai's. Did you write up a review for the one you have?
