Easy to assemble, matches crib, sturdy
My husband and I debated getting a changing table. We knew it was totally possible to change a baby without a changing table, but ultimately decided that one central location would work better for our family.
We chose the Ikea changing table because it matched the crib we had chosen and was a great price.
After we bought it I assembled it easily. It took some time because of all the bolts/screws but assembly was not complicated.
It has two large shelves which are handy for storing all the necessities of diaper changing. We bought some plastic crates to set on the shelves which fit great. Baskets would look nice as well. The shelves have enough room to fit all our cloth diapers, covers, and other supplies.
Ikea sells a changing table pad, but we chose to go with one of the standard size changing table pads sold at various big box stores. It fits, but barely. Apparently this changing table is slightly smaller than a more expensive standard version.
After the baby is out of diapers we plan on using the changing table to store toys or books. It seems sturdy enough to last through many years of use or multiple children.
Just last week my husband said, "I'm really glad we decided to get the changing table, it makes this (changing a multitude of newborn diapers) so much easier."
