I'm so sorry you're having a tough time, but things will get better! My first child was EXTREMELY fussy, especially at night. My husband and I spent many sleepless nights passing our screaming baby back and forth, trying to nurse her, rock her, swaddle her, anything that would help. Unfortunately none of it helped for more than a short time and we spent two exhausting months trying EVERYTHING! My husband was out of town during month 3 and by the time he came back she was fine. I remember him asking if he should take the first shift with her and I looked at him like he was crazy. He was so surprised that she didn't cry all night anymore. It's amazing how quickly things can change.
I also have a bit of an oversupply issue. With my newborn, he is often fussy, but nothing like my daughter. I try to feed him on only one breast at a time, but he's very strong willed and will sometimes cry until I give him the second breast. One thing that seems to be working with him is Cranial Sacral Therapy. He's definitely spitting up and fussing a lot less. My daughter unfortunately was too fussy to even get through one session of that, but it's worth a try if you have a good practitioner near you.
I never had any luck with pacifiers either and I think they will only hurt your oversupply issue. Just be patient with your baby and yourself and you'll get through it. Eating is so important! And if you can get a few hours of sleep here and there, that will help too.
I deeply appreciate your response. I notice she is becoming less fussy as I'm learning her. I'm still blocking to manage milk. I would LOVE to try cranial sacral therapy. I'm in Augusta ga, so not sure they have a practitioner. Just moved her in March so still discovering what's here. I miss NYC! lol
anyhoo, have a wonderful weekend!
That's great that she's fussing less! Hopefully it will soon be a distant memory.
Also, if you're interested, I found this website that has a database of CranioSacral (misspelled it before) practitioners and it looks like there's one in Augusta:
We had a really great session today with Cranio for our little one, so I highly recommend it if you can.
Enjoy your weekend too!
did this help you? I think this is my problem too!
