We're still here. At 41+1. Saw midwife yesterday, she felt the baby, said everything looked great. We didn't do any sort of internal exam, given that I'm GBS positive. I've been contracting ALL WEEK. Tons of pressure, baby very very active. Just waiting. DP and I have been trying to keep busy and patient. We did manage to get our taxes done yesterday (yay!) so that is wonderful--one more thing off the list.
Sick of everyone asking when I'm going to get induced. ARGH. I keep saying, the EDD is just an ESTIMATE!!!!!!!!!!!! The baby will come when it is ready, people!
DP and DTD last night. I had a hard time sleeping--just didn't feel sleepy, not in any real pain or discomfort though. DP has a side job two towns away this weekend, hanging drywall, so the alarm went off at 5am this morning. Got his lunch packed and he was out the door around 6am. I took the dogs for a nice brisk 2 1/2 mile walk, (during which it felt like the baby was going to fall out on the road) then did animal chores. Now I'm drinking coffee and starting my typing work. Two of the kids are gone to a friend's house for an Easter Egg Dyeing sleepover (yes, they are 17 and almost 15 and they are having an Easter party with four other girls), I'm going to help 20 yo DD with her taxes this morning, and 12 yo DS is going to play with a friend when he gets up. Busy yet relaxed weekend!
So, Easter baby? April Fools baby? Or beyond????
Dammit, we want to meet this baby!!!!!!!!!!
Must. Stay. Patient.
Hey farmer. I'm here. I'll be 41w on Monday... I am doing ok waiting patiently (I think) but I am so uncomfortable (hips at night mostly) and I know that will feel better once she's born... My kids are anxious though and the house is less than calm and peaceful.
My last 5 births have been during the 41st week, so I am not really getting TOO much pressure from family and friends, but I just want to meet her. Of 8 children she is only my 2nd daughter and my DHs first bio daughter. We are all super excited to see who she is!!!
Hang in there.
Yay! Thanks for posting! It feels so lonely here now that so many have had their babies! Yes, three out of four of my previous children were past their EDD (DS was the longest, at 41+4), so I'm not really very surprised. This is my DP's first baby, and he is just so over the top excited about it! It is so much fun being pregnant with him! :) He loves to watch the belly move, and he even talks to the baby. So different this time around.
We don't know if it is a boy or a girl, and we are dying to see who emerges! The older kids are very impatient and excited as well, so we're just on a holding pattern here. Isn't it fun having older kids? :)
I think what has been SO hard is that even though I've been contracting for a week and a half, I've only had a bit of mucous plug stuff and NO bloody show, so I'm not feeling like anything is really happening. :(
But, DP really needs to make some money this weekend, so it is a good thing that I didn't go into labour yet anyway! So, I'm going to enjoy my quiet weekend and maybe go take a nap soon.
Keep me posted! :)
Today's my due date. DS was born at 41 weeks so not too much pressure from family/friends this time. It's so much easier when you went past due with your previous kid too....with DS the pressure was insane.
I'm still here too, but just 40w1d here and not at all surprised (that's why I joined the April DDC lol) DD1 was born at 41w1d, DD2 was born at 40w1d and DD3 was born at 41w5d so i figured I'd be pregnant until *at least* my dd and probably longer. Thankfully I'm still feeling pretty good overall though stess at work (I own my own business) is getting to me and there ar a lot of things going on that are happening a really crummy timings, all things considered! I would love to go into labor tomorrow night and have him Monday morning - the kids are on spring break so that just seems like a great plan! So, we'll see.
I didn't lose my plug or have any show until an hour before I delivered last night!
Wow, so there are still a few of us! :) I don't feel so alone.
Chapsie, that is reassuring to hear. Somehow in my mind NOTHING is happening until I see something on the toilet paper! So maybe I'm closer than I think? Crossing fingers. Just got done helping oldest DD with taxes, its just she and I and the dogs in the house--so nice and quiet. I think I'm off to take a nap, would probably be a good thing to be well-rested, just in case.......
