Hey Nov 2012 DDC mamas! We miss you! We'd love to hear how things are going for you and see a pic of your little one, if you don't mind sharing. How is motherhood is treating you?
Cheyenne is 8 months old and has the sweetest, most delicate personality. She is picking up on some sign language, but all her signs look the same, lol. She loves table foods, especially chicken and beef, and she tolerates baby food. (She's still primarily breastfed, though.) She crawls by dragging herself, and she usually will pee on the potty first thing in the morning. She is tall and skinny and nearly bald, like all my babies.
And as you can see, she has two teeth!
Itty Bitty Pretty is now 8 months old, and loves solid food. Can't get enough of it, I have to watch her volume intake or we have big spit ups (and more fussy hunger!). Her favorite summer snack is two ripe plums. She has one little tiny two-day-old tooth and its cuuuuuuute. She's not the lest bit the drama queen her birth would have implied. Excited to see all the other mamas baby stories!
The girls will be 9 mos old next week. I can't believe how quickly time has passed. They have mastered the army crawl and are pulling themselves up on everything. We are still BF and have introduced BLW and they LOVE food. We are doing a handful of signs as well. Ellie has 5 teeth and Emmy has none.
Me and Ana the 4th of July, almost 9 months now!:) She's crawling and pulling up. She'll take no more than two steps holding on to things, but she will transfer from the couch to a leg to a table, for instance. She tries to let go but so far, she is still too wobbly- she's pretty sure she can do anything and gets mad when she falls. She may not be head of the class with her motor skills, but she's talking up a storm. New words almost every day, though she may not consistently use them for a few more weeks. She is a total Mama's girl, but she really adores her Daddy (or Day-dee, or Papa, as she will call him). We're mostly doing baby led weaning with her, though I have to be cautious because of my allergies. She LOVES nearly everything she's eaten so far, I'm happy to have a good eater, though she's still experimenting more than filling her tummy. Even if she pigs out, she's ready to nurse as soon as she's done. I guess to top it off.
Thanks for starting this thread, Cynthia--I'm not on Facebook, so I miss all my fellow November mamas and their beautiful babies!
This is Luthien falling asleep while accompanying us on a hike. Below, she's on her dad's shoulder; he looks pained because she's grabbing him by the hair.
She's now eight months and one week old and continues to be a delight. She has a cheerful, lively personality and is always investigating her environment with joy. She babbles fluently, with sounds in the several languages she hears around her, and is getting ready to crawl...it could be any day now! She moved backward once a week ago and pulls herself up using our clothing. She's making slow forays into the solid-food world (she sucks on things and is just getting the concept of chewing), with her favorites still being guacamole, mangoes, and pineapples. She also loves spicy sauces, such as falafel sauce and Thai red curry sauce. )She recognizes the flavors of my favorite foods from breast milk, but I was surprised that she likes them.)
Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos and stories of your beautiful little ones! I hope you stop by this site from time to time so we can catch up.
Here's a few recent pictures of Adelaide (taken at the same park on different days, hehe).
She's 8.5 months now...super headstrong, does what she wants when she wants it and lets you know if she doesn't want it! She's still about 90% breastfed, she does enjoy eating solid foods but she's so busy all the time she'll only stop for a couple of minutes to eat before she wants to go back to what she was doing. She crawls at top-speed all around the house and furniture surfs now, she CAN stand if I distract her but if she realizes she is standing on her own, she gives me this terrified face, holds up her arms, and super super carefully lowers herself back down. Hilarious. She loves walks, dogs, cats, and seeing people she knows, and hates diaper changes and her car seat.
She's still pretty little, just under 17 lbs.
