70toes My son has done this. It's like he realizes while I'm gone, "Hmm... I haven't nursed and I'm still alive!" But after a while he rebuilds his frequency.

Just offer it everytime you get the chance.

astromama My son is 16 months and he's always been a great nurser... never goes much longer than 3 hours between sessions. Lately he's been teething HARD... he's miserable, lots of drool, molars are coming through. My DH catered a wedding last Saturday and I helped him for around 5 hours, so DS was with my mom. He didn't nurse for a 9 hour stretch that day, and since then he's only nursed maybe 2 or 3 times each day. So, four days now. Is it at all possible he is weaning, because the thought makes me sad. I want to continue until at least 2, hopefully 3 or longer. I don't want to make him nurse, but as I understand it a lot of babies nurse MORE frequently when teething, not less. Any experience? Will he come back to the breast? What is a 'strike' exactly? TIA!
