Wengrin - ds is on low dose adhd meds. It was a rough choice to make. Glad your dd has a wonderful passionate outlet!
Oxford - hugs.
Chuord - how are you today?
Faith - hope there's no lead anywhere!

Thanks Ladies, yes I am really proud of my girl. It is a great, positive outlet to channel all of that energy of hers! She has ADHD, and she used to not be able to sit still....and she had always been so bright but last year when standardized times tests came into play, especially in math, she was not on grade level. I was so used to her being above grade level. So we knew that she needed some help. So we started her on ADHD medication (controversial I know, and we struggled with it as well) but between the low dose medication and her focus on this sport that she absolutely loves, she has made A's in math and science...she has always been an extremely fluent reader so she reads on a 6th grade level but this has helped her self confidence so much. She would come home crying after failing the timed math tests (simple addition and subtraction but they had to finish 60 questions in 3 minutes! It would break her heart. Now she makes A's this year doing 100 multiplication facts in 5 min. So I really feel like the medicine helps her. Until she can learn the organization skills and study skills (and how to tube out distractions) that we learn as we get older. Then we can take her off the medication. Hopefully soon. She is already growing leaps and bounds in her maturity. So that will help.
She took ballet and dance for 3 years since she was 3 1/2, but was never totally passsionate about it. Once she went to a summer camp at this cheer/tumbling gym she was hooked. She absolutely loves it and never grows tired of it or wants to skip a day. She recently had strep and 102.5 fever and still went to her practices because she knew they had a competition that weekend and she didn't want to miss!! She is so dedicated. (I wanted her to stay home of course and not infect the other children, but it's the gym's policy that if you miss a practice the week before competition then you can't compete that weekend) craziness....a little extreme. But it is building character and perseverance in her. I am really pleased with it overall.
So enough about me, Chuord you have been on my mind and I have prayed that you will defy the odds and hold on to this pregnancy. If not, I think that conceiving and getting to implantation is a huge step. Chemical pregnancies are natures way of taking care of a mishap during the fertilization and chromosom formation stage (from what I understand) and that is just bad luck. So if that is the case then on to the next month and fingers crossed for you my dear!!
Take care everyone- Oxford big hugs to you and your hormones :-) I totally feel your pain. I know exactly how brutal that ride can be. But I know you'll find the courage to stick your finger back into that crazy light socket for another go!

|oxford||Oh chuord I really hope it's not a chem. hang in there and take care of yourself xxx|

Hi Oxford - huge hugs... It's the roller coaster ride from hell to get to heaven... (No offense to anyone) they always say it's the journey that's the learning bit, and I guess it's fair to say that because of the lows all of us will enjoy the highs so much more...
I'm emotionally in the same place (but trying to hold my zen and hope) the specialists nurse yesterday told me it was likely to be a chem and to call her when I start... Despite that I'm hoping... Your AF hasn't started yet has it? So there's still hope xxx
Night ladies xx

Primal, beautiful scan, well done mummy!!
Chuord, glad to see you're holding your zen. That can only help now there is a baby to look after.
Wengrin- your competition sounds ace. Weldone dd! Let us know if they win!
Yammas- where are you in your cycle?
Faith - hope you are enjoying your growing bump?
I've been quiet because the hormones have been hitting me hard. I can feel the difference now my hormones falling to AF on Saturday. This while month has been like sticking my finger in the plug socket! Everything has been magnified and now I feel exhausted. I'm fearful of doing it all again next month. Hopefully my body will not be so extreme on the second run through. I'm just starting to feel myself again and coming out of hopelessness.

|chuord||Totally Wengrin! Hoping its a fun time away and dd goes well... Thanks for your thoughts - they helped, everyone has helped really - I'm calmer and just waiting... Feeling happier and hopeful fit the future|

|mamaBlue||Wengrin - Wow! State competition! That's so cool! You must be so proud of your daughter. It took a lot of hard work to get there, I'm sure. Good for her! Have fun!|

Oh Primal, what a beautiful little bub!! Congrats!
Chuord I am keeping you in positive thoughts and hoping that this little bean snuggles in tight! Yay on the progesterone numbers! That sounds great, unmedicated. In all honesty, that is a bit similar to my early loss...my numbers went down and my tests kept getting lighter gradually (but I did have more of a drop in betas than yours and they started wayyyy low like 12, AND my progesterone was only 8) So don't give up hope. I am crossing fingers and toes for you!!!!!! Keep that Zen positive attitude of yours!
Welcome to new ladies!! I will have to catch up on personals later. It has been busy...getting DD ready for State Cheer competition and going to stay overnight 2 nights for it this weekend. I was planning to leave DS with Daddy (first time ever being away from me overnight) but he caught a last minute reprieve because DH has to work so little cutie pie gets to tag along. He loves the excitement so he will have fun. We are sharing a hotel with another mom and daughter and driving together so it will be one big crazy fun party (I think). It's our first out-of-town competition. Plus hubby has had a lot of work going on so I have been doing a lot of his errands and tasks that I can help with.
Hope everyone is doing great and keep the faith Chuord!!!!

|chuord||Faith - omg that's not what you need right now... Though if it's not peeling or handled daily hopefully you're not affected|

|01-14-2014 09:07 PM|
Primal - Baby is sweet! Congrats on a growing bouncing bean.
Chourd - I'm hoping for the best. Come on beta, go up!
|01-14-2014 08:53 PM|
Hello baby primal!
Chuord - progesterone seems great to me. I'm with you on knowing this soul is yours.
|01-14-2014 08:11 PM|
Thanks Chrissy and primal, great news is progesterone is 36 - seems like a good number and now I know.. Next beta next Monday, will see what happens strangely I feel upbeat and comfortable... This soul is meant to be with us, but maybe they have to reject a few dud forms first.
primal that ultrasound is gorgeous! Baby looks picture perfect (pun not intended) all reports were good?
|01-14-2014 07:43 PM|
|PrimalJoy||Oh Chuord, keeping my fingers crossed for you!!|
|01-14-2014 07:43 PM|
My pic from today
|01-14-2014 07:38 PM|
Oxford - not over til it's over. Fingers crossed.
Chuord - Hugs dear. When will you get a 3rd beta? If the worse happens at least you now know it'll happen again!! Obviously hope like hell it works now.
|01-14-2014 07:25 PM|
|chuord||Ok hcg dropped to 17, however I still feel good - so am just going with the flow... Oestroidal was 727 no progesterone yet|
|01-14-2014 02:37 PM|
Oxford - huge hugs on the hormones, but you are still early... I got my negative 3 days before AF was due... Just be gentle with yourself, as everyone has said you are already on a win this month cos you ovulated - twice even... Do something fun for you, maybe dinner or a movie with dh... This is soo much hard work - I can almost hear the babies laughing at the effort we put in to get them... Spoilt rotten before conception
Primal - thanks heaps, that really helps. I have no idea on my progesterone (natural therapist has been saying its fine though) which is why I really wanted to check the level before the pessary... Which I've done, and now I'm lying down for the obligatory half hour to keep the pessary in place lol... I think I will do as you suggest and keep going with the vitex for now, if I'm staying on the progesterone I'll wean off them - I read that stopping cold early on some people had losses, but as you said if they had a progesterone issue that withdrawal may have been enough... Even though I'm flapping and trying to be on top of all angles I do just feel that either it's meant to be here at this time or it will be another month, I just want this to be the sticky one... I know you ladies understand having just done this cycle. Thanks for bearing with me...
Btw I love all your stories and news - best distraction ever
|01-14-2014 01:58 PM|
Chuord -- My two cents about the Vitex -- I was taking it while TTC, and continued for a little while after I got my positive. What I read about it doesn't indicate it's harmful, and since I hadn't had my progesterone tested, I continued a little while to support progesterone production. Then I went out of town and forgot it around nine weeks, so I stopped taking it at that point. I don't think progesterone levels are what caused my losses. Since Vitex is supposed to help TTC by supporting progesterone production, I think it will only provide a benefit for those who have low progesterone. I would wonder, though, if it would provide enough to help you if you had a serious issue with this. I wouldn't rely on Vitex for this personally. I think that you getting your progesterone checked early is your best bet (which it sound like you're doing), and if the level is low, taking the supplements from your doctor. It takes a lot of progesterone supplementation to get our pregnant bodies into the green zone. If you do end up taking the supplements, I'm not sure there would be any benefit in taking the Vitex. Maybe continue the vitex until you get your test results? Good luck with your choice; I had to think the same thing through this time.
AFM, I had my 11 week appt today. The doctor didn't even try the doppler, just did a quick U/S. Baby was kicking all around in there, and HB looked great.
|01-14-2014 01:56 PM|
I took a FRER this morning and it was negative 4 days before AF. I don't normally test early but I'm so fed up of the symptoms this month I needed to know. I got my day 21 progesterone results= 133 ( anything above 30 shows ovulation) so we can definitely say I ovulated. I think the number is so high because I released two eggs.
So I've had a down day. I so wanted to be a mum and I'm sad. I think my symptoms have been due to my high progesterone so all this discomfort does not feel worthwhile just for empty hormones.
Mamablue- thanks for your advice, you are spot on. The meds give hope. It is good that my body worked this month, I'm disappointed it didn't result in anything. Well done on your last obgyn appointment and here's to a really great midwife.
Wengrin- of course I knew what you meant in your post, you are such a sweetheart you would always saying lovely things if it was open to interpretation!!
Hi to everyone else.
|01-14-2014 12:09 PM|
Thanks mamablue - I'll go early this morning for my blood test and come home and take one... So all I missed is last night... It means it wont be 48 hours between betas but surely they can work that out
I would love opinions on vitex, do you keep taking it or stop once pg?
|01-14-2014 08:50 AM|
Chourd - Consider taking the progesterone ASAP. If you need it, it's critical that you start immediately.
Mares - The house story is crazy! I'm so glad you and the kids didn't make the trek out there to look at it. My BIL bought a home with similar oddities (but not as severe), and that house is a money pit! Ugh!
Oxford - I know you're busy with work stuff right now. Thinking of you as your AF or BFP gets near. (Come on BFP!)
|01-14-2014 06:23 AM|
Mares - that place sounded creepy. Definitely wouldn't want old people living in the back yard.
Chuord - updates? Hope the progesterone isn't needed but glad its there if it is.
|01-14-2014 01:09 AM|
Oxford - how are you feeling? I chart stalked and I'm so freaking excited - great temp rise!
Ok as a precaution the specialist wants me on 400 progesterone pessary morning and night... I'm not starting till tomorrow (my choice) as I'm getting a progesterone blood check tomorrow - and I want to know if I'm good without lol... I will take if needed though.
|01-13-2014 06:19 PM|
|PrimalJoy||Mares, that story is excellent. Really cracked me up (especially when you got to the backyard tenants in the trailer; I wouldn't be able to cope with that either!).|
|01-13-2014 05:43 PM|
Yammas - welcome! There's always space for one more and yes there are still a few of us trying - I'm almost in the pg category - just waiting for another beta to confirm...
Chrissy - lol re the cat, that's so hilarious! My cousins wife told us years ago that her cat sat on her pretty much for nine months
Mares - never feel you have to delay writing about stuff lol... There's always space! (But thanks for the kindness) omg when you started talking about the house I was wondering if you could demolish and buy a ready built transportable (they're quite cheap here) but as I read on I realized that doesn't help with the tenants! I have no idea on regulations there but it can be hard to shift people here, and I think if it's acreage it's even worse (though why there are more tenant rights with acreage I have no idea)... I'm just soo glad you didn't waste your effort to go - all that smoke you probably would've been I'll on him
I haven't watched evita so I can't comment, but I understand the slight disappointment.
Re the engagement ring - regardless of whether you can afford it etc the thought and the suggestion are soo sweet just by themselves! It's great when they surprise you with love and appreciation - hope you enjoyed it
Primal thanks for the reassurance - it's helping me recover the zen
11wk4days - wow so fast... I keep forgetting how close to mamablue you are time wise... Fx for you, and maybe we might get an ultrasound sneak peak? When you say back at school you teach if I remember right? That's be hard with the tiredness!
Thanks again everyone for the support and sanity... Each one of you is incredible 😇
