deuxceleste Nope, you're right! It worked, thanks!

evies_mom It's been ages since I published at AC, but you used to be able to delete my clicking on "My Content" in front of the article there used to be a letter "v" for view" possibly "e" for edit, and I *think* "x" to delete.

That may have changed though.
06-22-2008 05:27 PM
deuxceleste Okay, I've been thinking.

Is there a way to "unsubmit" an article from AC if it's not yet been published?

sunshinestarr Yes, it's annoying! I was hoping I wouldn't wait more than a week. Thanks!
06-15-2008 11:42 AM
lalaland42 It can take 2 weeks. It is hard to wait, isn't it?
06-15-2008 04:21 AM
sunshinestarr Anyone know how long it normally takes to get a non-call for content published? I've submitted stuff (exclusive) and it's still sitting there, over a week later.. Hmm.
06-10-2008 10:01 PM
white_queen_22 Just curious who won the ultimate call for content.

Anyone know which article won?
06-09-2008 05:32 PM
chann96 Not being snarky here; genuinely trying to figure stuff out.

I was just reading the promotion tips forum at AC and someone suggested a site like OnlyWire. Several people on there jumped in and said it was a really bad idea because you're spamming all the bookmark sites and if you do it enough the bookmark sites will start banning AC links. What do you think?

I'm wondering though if you can alleviate this problem by actually bookmarking other stuff too.

sunshinestarr Thanks Erika! I just finished doing that now. I need to write more!

ErikaLeigh For those of you who were asking about upping your page views, here is the directions to ONLY WIRE.

For anyone that is new and would be interested in a bookmarking site that some of us here use, you can check out www.onlywire.com

here is the directions to making it work, this will bring up your page views!

Directions
1. Go to Onlywire.com
2. Click "Start Using It Now"
3. Fill out account info.
4. Go through each of the bookmarking sites listed on the left column and enroll in each one. Be sure to check your email as many require you to confim via email. If some sites are down, just skip them.
5. At the top of the Onlywire page, you will see a green box with "Bookmark Tools" in the title. Click on "Need Help."
6. On-line visusal tutorial shows you how to right click and add to favorites in the links folder. Choose which "Save page" feature you like (I chose with frames- fr, though not sure of the difference).
7. Go to AC and open up the article you want to bookmark.
8. Click on favorites, go to links folder, and open up the "Save Page" tool that you just saved there.
9. A rectangular box should open up at the top of the screen. Add your info. Separate tags with a space, include a description of your article.
10. Click bookmark page.

chann96 Heather that is so awesome! Congratulations!

I didn't even think about the Ultimate Call for Content slowing down submissions, but that makes sense. I've got an article I submitted on the second for upfront payment and I still haven't heard back from them. I didn't do the Ultimate Call for Content as I figured I had about a snowball's chance in Hades of winning and it wasn't really an interesting topic to me.

I also submitted a second article (second for the week) tonight. I grabbed one of the calls for content yesterday. First time I've done that so it gave me a different idea to write about.

I got to clout 3 this week. I think I'm going to have a goal of making clout 5 this year. I think I'll make 4 within the next month, but that jump up to 5 requires a lot more pageviews. I've also got some outside writing stuff I'm working on so I think 5 works out as a nice goal.

I have googled some of my keywords and found a couple of my articles doing well on google. One is on page 1 and another on page 2. I'm getting a fair number of pageviews from the one on page 1. So I guess I'm doing something write on my SEO ideas.

I'm having fun doing all of the projects I've been working on lately. It's nice to have a creative outlet for my brain.

lalaland42 Congrats Heather!

moonfirefaery WOOT! I hit Clout 10 today!!! Yay!

Sorry for my abscense. I'm on vacation right now. I'm doing lots of reading and research, too, because when I get home, I'm going to start writing about modern feminism and women's rights for a while. I'm kind of burnt out on the crunchy stuff right now.

I keep a little notebook for writing ideas and catchy titles that hit me when I'm on the go or not at the computer. I don't always use the ideas, but at least I won't forget them.

I like the new system of calls for content also - there are usually one or two ideas that I can run with. There were quite a few pregnancy/parenting related ones today though I didn't snag any.

Yes! I was totally confused, I didn't submit anything.

anjanetteopal I just submitted my Ultimate Call piece. This is the first time I've seen them do something like this and I've been writing for them for a year now. I doubt I have any chance at the prize, but it was the motivation I needed to start writing again - I've dropped the ball since Aidan was born.

on edit: Did anyone else think that the ultimate call was too vague? I'm really still not sure I did what they were asking for.

I wanted to but didn't get around to it... Do they do this often, with such a prize??
