eastkygal I agree with the PP. Also, it may be rude to some, but I don't think so in this case. Listen in to good and bad conversation. Learn how certain types of people phrase things... ask How would this character say this? Stephen King has some good suggestions for dialogue in On Writing. He also says some people can do it and some can't. Just make sure when you do it it is good.

Ellen Griswold Not exactly sure what you're looking for, that's a pretty broad topic. But I guess my first thoughts on dialog is to make sure that it is advancing your story. Dialog isn't just witty filler - it needs to have a purpose to your plot. Use your dialog to make your story go where it needs to instead of just having a a big narrative dump.

Use action words, bigger is better.
