Snapdragon I got my first pp AF yesterday- 14 weeks from ds's birth.

Right of Passage Not sure kiklet, I have had my offical PP AF. She arrived on the 16th. It's been a nice light period thankfully.

Kikelet I cannot figure out what's going on with my body!! Evelyn is my first baby, my cycles have always been regular, but I am almost 3 months PP and just over the past 3 days I've been crampy and bleeding again. It's more brownish than red. I sort of stopped PP bleeding at around 9 wks then it picked back up at 11 wks for a couple days, but now I'm actually cramping when baby nurses at 12.5 wks PP, plus crampy off and on during the day. It's kind of frustrating to not know what my body is doing. I'm afraid that the cramping suggests AF..? Is it still normal to bleed and cramp 12+ wks PP?

MiaMama I spotted/light bleeding on and off for 10 days. I have not had any now about 4 weeks since it started. If we aren't archived in 2 weeks, I'll come back and update. Maybe it wasnt AF.

I don't remember this happenning with DD1... but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I hope that AF does not return for a while yet. I really don't want to get preg when my youngest is under 12 months, and I refuse to take hormonal birth control (it messes me up). My BC of choice is LAM + withdrawl, followed directly by abstinence (poor hubby ). My first preg was concieved while using condoms, so I don't trust them one bit.

Right of Passage I seem to have light spotting every other week. I don't know what it is, maybe my hormones working them selves out. For now though no real AF. Bram is 12 weeks, and will be 3 months on Sunday.

moonrae I got mine back just a few days ago. My daughter is 12 weeks old I got mine back at 10 weeks with my son. I co-sleep, nurse on demand, you name it-I do it! My baby does sleep for long stretches at night, though, and I am now back to work. But stilll...12 weeks???

i have basically been breaking out since the first trimester. I've always been a person who breaks out right before AF so basically pregnancy and pp are like never ending pms for me. lovely lovely hormones

josie423 OK. So, instead of AF, I believe I ovulated. On both sides based on the O pain. O.M.G. Babies are a blessing, babies are a blessing...

octobermom My DD is literly attached to my boob every waking moment (or it feels like that) but my blessing/cure is she started STTN at a very early age (like by 2 months we were at 10 hours) so I was cursed with AF returning at 10weeks...

Deir Mine never developed past spotting so I don't think it was AF. I was so upset!! Probably over nothing. Although, I have been getting Nora to nurse alot more lately so maybe that is helping my hormones get back to happy nonfertileness.

I hope you are all af free for a long time!

catchthewind I bled (sometimes fairly heavy) off and on for about two weeks, and then it stopped and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a period. I talked to my midwife about it and she told me that while it's unusual, it's not abnormal to get period-like bleeding even as late as 10 or so weeks postpartum and that most likely it's just hormonal.

oh wow, that is definitely good to know. thanks

I've decided to look at the positive and be thankful that I'm not in pain and hopeful that this totally manageable vague discomfort will be the future of AF for me. I've also decided that at least now I can stop wondering whether I'm fertile or not. The idea of getting pregnant during that pre-first-period ovulation was freaking me out.

josie423 I've been cramping a lot and feeling hormonally crazy... HPT was -, so I'm thinking AF is going to rear her ugly head here any time.

Mine never developed into anything more than brown spotting. I don't think it was a full period. It hasn't been long enough to know for sure, though. My normal cycles are about 5 weeks long, and even when they did come back at 14 months the other times, it took a while to kick in and be even that often (for the entire second year I was pretty irregular.)

judybean Nothing yet again... but it's been just about exactly four weeks since the last few days of spotting (which was at 8.5 weeks or so)... so.. i don't know. I'll give it another week or so to see if it was a fluke or what...
06-03-2010 02:56 PM
josie423 1babysmom - I haven't had anymore bleeding, but I've been having somewhat fertile looking discharge on and off since my bleeding stopped. I'm thinking I'm fertile or my body's trying to be.
06-03-2010 02:11 PM
ciga argh!
I am so sick of bleeding. I sware to god I only stopped like a week ago and I am just praying that the spotting that started this afternoon is my pp body's reaction to the fact that I went for a 2+ mile hilly walk yesterday and is not my freakin period. I'm breastfeeding around the clock and I'm only 10wks out here!

october I don't know but I had 2 days of spotting recently at 6.5 weeks. I'm glad I'm not the only one!
05-23-2010 11:23 AM
Right of Passage So I've had about 3-4 days of spotting, would you call it a period. 2 days were heavy enough that I needed a light pad/panty liner
05-16-2010 10:38 AM
Right of Passage It must have been hormonal stuff because BFN and no spotting since. I'm encapsulating my placenta today to hopefully get things back on track. I've been feeling weird.
05-16-2010 10:23 AM
Deir oh i hope!!!!!!!
05-16-2010 09:33 AM
Juvysen Ok, so I was digging around online and said lochia can go away and but come back even out at 8 weeks pp. So, I'm hoping that's all this is. I seem to vaguely remember something like this happening after Ds1, too...

Mine's only spotting, I guess I'd be more concerned if I was getting fertility signs and everything, too, but it's just spotting and some cramps yesterday.

Let's hope so -- for everybody!

And it does seem that many are posting of this around 8 weeks pp... maybe there's really something hormonal about it... or else just really flukey that so many of us are experiencing this around the same time.. ?

Juvysen this morning I had some brown spotting - Avery's 8 wks tomorrow. We DTD 2 weeks ago... I guess I was in a 2ww and didn't know?? hope it's just flukey hormones and that's it. *sigh*
