good morning ladies!! i've put up the new thread for march finally! I'm sorry that it took me this long to put it up...but work has been crazy! come on over to march and let's all have a wonderful month of helping and supporting each other...and i PRAY hard that more are able to kick AF out of their lives for at least 9 months!!!

03-03-2011 03:33 PM

Sorry Jenger. I hate that feeling of getting my hopes up...and then they are dashed. Even as my hopes are rising, I keep trying to convince myself that I shouldn't...and then I keep hoping, and then I keep trying to convince myself to stop....

Weekend Wrap-Up
Name: Jenger
Age: 36 on Monday the 7th
TTC #: 2
CD: 30
DPO (if applicable): 14
Testing: Negative
Trying Since: August 2009
Plan for this Cycle: Well, I did clomid challange test, and next time (Next week, probably) I will try femara
Link to Chart (if applicable):
Thoughts: I am pretty bummed, as my hope were up with the clomid.  It would have really made things easier... And I would save a lot of money.

Are we having a March thread?

Hoping for lots of graduates this month!!!

I'm waiting to O, any day now. Still painting my feet at night with iodine, and taking my geritol during the day. :)

How is everyone else doing?

Name: Lydia

Age: 29

TTC #: 2

CD: 9

DPO (if applicable): n/a

Testing:  Mar 26th I think.

Trying Since:  Oct 2009

Plan for this Cycle: I took 80 mg soy isoflavone CD 3-7

Link to Chart (if applicable):

Thoughts: I just need a place to hang out until I see a specialist in July. I have had 4 early losses, so I can get pregnant, I just cant stay pregnant for more than 5 weeks. I am thinking about asking my GP for a low dose of clomid.

Just an update.

Name: Rochelle
Age: 23
TTC #:1
CD: 23
DPO (if applicable): 1
Testing: probably not
Trying Since: May 2007
Plan for this Cycle: first ever infertility focused appointment this Friday and we'll go from there
Link to Chart (if applicable):
Thoughts: I am super very nervous about Friday. I can't believe it took us over 3+ years to finally seek out help and I'm just now realizing that so much of that procrastination has had to do with my fear. My appointment is at 8am so at least I don't have to dread it all day long. I am just hoping that this OB is fairly educated or at least willing to refer me to someone else who knows what they're doing. Unfortunately the nearest RE is 3+ hours away or I would have made an appointment with them instead. At least we'll finally get some testing done and get some sort of plan. I keep ovulating later and later every month so I'd love to know if it's something I need to be worried about, but I'm still super thankful I at least ovulate every month. I just hate these crazy long cycles. I'll definitely be updating Friday afternoon.

zanelee-  Do you know you TSH #?  I went to a general practitioner how said I was OK, with a TSH of 4, but when I went to a naturapath who specialized in hormonal balance, he said the new normal rang (decided by endocrinologist in 2002) is 0.5 to 2 or 2.5.  Studies show that close to 1, or between one and 2, is ideal for conception...  Then there are other thyroid issue that aren't apparent with a TSH blood test...  If you haven't seen it, this is a good website -

So it's hardly weekend, but I generally do my update during the week

Name: Jenger
Age: 35, but 36 in a week and a half when AF/BFP is due.
TTC #:2
DPO (if applicable): 4
Testing: Probably next friday
Trying Since: August 2009
Plan for this Cycle: Took (and Passed!) the clomid challenge test.  I have clear tubes, and decent hormone levels indicating fine ovarian reserve. Taking progesterone.

Link to Chart (if applicable):  Not that there is much there - I just uses the monitor and only record the important BDing...

Thoughts:  I took clomid, and it's hard to not be a little hopeful... but it has been a really long time.

Thank you brichole! And thank you for starting this thread! It's really great to feel like we're not alone in this and that we have support!!

WOW ladies!! I can't believe another week has passed!!!  I am praying that all of you get your BFPs soon!!!!  I'm still impatiently waiting on my PPAF to show up!! It's been 11 weeks since I had EMMA and yet still nothing. By this time 7 years ago when I had my oldest DD I was already working on my second PPAF by now.  It's killing me that it's taking my fertility this long to come back!!!  I want to be able to start trying again by the time Emma is 9 months old because i know that it took us 31 months to FINALLY get pregnant with her...and that's not including how long me and my ex dh tried to get pregnant after DD #1 was born!!!  It took me almost 5 years of actively trying to have another baby to finally get pregnant and I don't want it to take that long again!!!

G/L to everyone!!! Sending out baby vibes to all of you!!!

Testing: 2/23

Plan for this Cycle: Just waiting to see what happens
Link to Chart (if applicable): in siggy
Thoughts: How much I hate the 2ww and that pre-AF symptoms mimic early pg symptoms!

02-20-2011 12:31 PM

Hi All, I hope you don't mind me joining in. i thought this would be a good way to pass the 2WW!

Name: Serena
Age: 34
TTC #: 1
DPO (if applicable): .about 1 day
Testing: Beta test scheduled 3/3 (12 dpo)
Trying Since: 5/2010; started with clomid/HCG/IUI last month. this is month 2.
Plan for this Cycle: Well, i just got my IUI yesterday. It was really early this month-I'm on clomid and apparently, clomid works well for me. So well, however, that my lining is very thin-on day 10, it was just a 5mm but I had 3 mature follicles. I asked my RE if I should just skip the IUI this month but she suggested I go ahead. Triggered on day 10 and IUI on day 11 (at around 26 hours after trigger shot). Felt a lot of cramping last night night around 6pm so I'm wondering if maybe that is when I ovulated- temperature rose about .5 degrees this morning? Starting prometrium tomorrow (vaginally- took it orally last month and it made me miserable.). Scheduled to get a beta on Day 12 (everything seems so early this month!). If negative, will have one more clomid month, this time at a lower dose (50mg) to hopefully protect my lining. If that doesn't work, we're going to IVF but i'M considering whether I want to stay with this RE or go to another one.

Link to Chart (if applicable):
Thoughts: Mostly, I'm just sad that we all have to go through this. Not only do we have to deal with the uncertainty of infertility, but i also think there is inconsistency in the medical field. Too many doctors disagree with each other and online, there are so many differing opinions and advice. I wish people had more definitive answers. Also, I wish it was required that health insurance cover fertility treatment. My health insurance does not so I end up shelling out a lot of money for the drugs as well as the visits, sonograms and IUIs. On some level, this is why my DH and I believe that we should go to IVF after this next clomid challenge. We're already spending so much-at least IVF has a higher chance for success! I'm not very optimistic about this cycle because of my thin lining. It's really quite annoying to me because my RE noticed thin lining last month too so i don't know why she didn't just reduce the clomid dose for this month. That way, maybe my lining wouldn't have become so thin this month.

By the way, Lega, they definitely do IUI without meds. I wouldn't want to take these drugs either, if I knew I was ovulating. My periods were so irregular that the RE didn't think i was ovulating so I acknowledge that I needed supplementation. However, if i was ovulating, I don't think I would take the pills...i already hate that I'm messing with my body's hormones (although if i get pregnant, it'll all be worth it.). jumpers.gif

Good luck everyone!!

Hi Ladies!

I hope things are well out there in infertility-land.  I am thinking of you ladies...

Weekend Wrap-Up
Name: Jenger
Age:35 for 2 more weeks
TTC #:2
DPO (if applicable): Zero! (Ovulation day!)
Testing: I'm not a big tester, but if I am feeling like it is possible, maybe 13 or 14 dpo
Trying Since:August 2009
Plan for this Cycle:Well, I had all of my ovarian reserve tests this month - antral follicle count was good, fsh, lh and estrodial ok, amh a little high, which is better than low - but still - 8.8!  And I did the clomid challenge test - my cd10 lab results are lost somewhere...  Which totally sucks, but I am confident I passed.  Unless the CRAZY that I got from taking clomid means I failed...

Thoughts:I'm hopeful, yet realistic.

Ohh ohh, baby dust to you today Lega!!!

02-16-2011 06:15 PM

Sorry Zanelle,,,

I got my smily face today and going for IUI tomorrow,,,it's my first time,,,,

02-16-2011 05:36 PM

Well, here's my post followup post...

AF showed up today. Boo! And I have felt AWFUL! I took something for pain, and it didn't seem to help. I even left work today it was so bad. Actually, they sent me home. 8 hours later, I'm feeling semi ok.

So, our plan for the next cycle is to have lots of sex! ;), and I'm going to take geritol. Why not. I've read several people trying it and they ended up pregnant, so I figured, what the hey...

If next month isn't successful, we're probably going back to the RE and start clomid. Ugh!

Firebug...nice to have a cycle buddy! Cheers to both of us!

Hope y'all don't mind if I jump in.  I was stalking Blue (hi, blue!) and found this thread she posted in.

Name: Kewpie

Age: 30
TTC #: 1 (after 1 m/c)
CD: I have no idea what this means, sorry.
DPO (if applicable): No idea what this is either

Testing: ummm...?
Trying Since: October 1999 (I have PCOS and started with metformin, then moved to clomid, then switched doctors and discovered that the original dr never tested my husband who has severe MFI.  Tried surgery to fix varicocele, but it did not help.  We've moved to IVF with ICSI)

Plan for this Cycle: RE says I need to have 2 AF cycles after the m/c to try for another fresh IVF/ICSI cycle.  I'm playing the waiting game right now.  Finished the last of my provera a week and a half ago and hoping for AF to show up soon.
Link to Chart (if applicable):
Thoughts: I wish people would stop telling me I just need to adopt and that I'll end up pregnant.  I'm happy to have found such supportive ladies on this site who know EXACTLY what I'm feeling.  I wish none of us had to go through this, but it helps to know I'm not alone.

02-15-2011 06:38 PM

fierrbug I tried Target brand,,,it was good,,,now I have one I got in Stop&Shop,,,its good too,,,maybe you have some kind of energy which messes up devices?? :D

02-15-2011 10:15 AM

SimplyRochelle and fierrbug - I remember both of you from my past time on here.  I'm so sorry that you are still here and have not graduated.  Sending you lots of baby dust~

So we'll call this the

Post-post Weekend Wrap-up for me.  Sorry I've been MIA all month.  Crazy month.  10th wedding anniversary which also = TTC since.  banghead.gif

Weekend Wrap-Up
Name:  Tiara
Age: 33
TTC #: 1 (w/ 3 mc's over the years)
CD: 1 (Yay - af SUCKS!)
DPO (if applicable):  N/A
Testing:  Why bother?
Trying Since:  2001
Plan for this Cycle:  Well first I'm going to die from cramps.  We were going to jump right into an IUI in 2011 but urm, may need to save the $$ for other stuff like taxes - so intervention is perpetually on hold again.  If it's not $$ it's the dr's.  I may scream and start beating people - just sayin' - anyone have a good recommendation for a bbt thermometer that works for longer than 2 seconds?  I have been through sooo many.  Anyone have any luck with a particular brand?
Link to Chart (if applicable):  N/A today

Thoughts:  Well apparantly I'm a bit grumpy.  Go figure - the only good thing about af is ice cream and alcohol.  winky.gif  Probably not at the same time though.  Is it weird that after all of this time - I'm still wishing/hoping that 'it' happens just out of the blue.  Because honestly those are the only times that we have gotten bfp's - when we are in the middle of off cycles. Although granted now that we know about my GH deficiency that's probably unlikely unless by some miracle our insurance gets its head out of it's behind and approves the injections or we can get the reduced cost injections from the manufacturer based on our 2010 taxes.  *sigh*  So frustrating when you FINALLY have the answers and can't done a damned thing about them.  So frustrating.

Rochelle:  How are you doing, Honey?  Sending you love, hugs and keeping my fingers crossed for ya'!

zanelee:  Never feel embarassed about hoping for good, healthy bfp's.  hug2.gif

Weekend Wrap-Up
Name: Jasmine
Age: 33
TTC #: 2
CD: 12
DPO (if applicable): NA
Testing: I bought some early PG tests, the ones that detect only 10ug or something, so I may start testing around 7dpo, just because and to see if maybe we're conceiving but it's not implanting

Trying Since: Nov 2008
Plan for this Cycle: continue acupuncture (3rd cycle with it); meet with a naturopath recommended by acupuncture and several local women dealing with infertility, and hopefully discover a reason why we aren't conceiving; maybe use progesterone to help extend luteal phase
Link to Chart (if applicable):
I met with the naturopath last week, and she gave me a list of tests to have down.  Thankfully, my PCP was okay with requesting them, so they were all covered by insurance - yay!  I had most of them done last week, so I should be getting the results any day.  Hopefully they will rule out PCOS and any vitamin/mineral deficiencies.  I also have to have progesterone and estrogen tested on day 21.  After that I hope to have a more specific plan to follow with the naturopath.  She does want me to start using over-the-counter progesterone, after day 21 for this cycle so I don't mess up my progesterone test, and then after ovulation in future cycles, to hopefully extend my luteal phase.  Other than that, just wait and see and continue to see my acupuncturist.

Plan for this Cycle: pray!

Thoughts: I'm nervous. Have all the symptoms of impending af...sore breasts, headache, stomach issues...but no af. Really praying that this is the month, and that tomorrow I don't feel embarassed for writing all this. :)

Im glad I found this tread,,,am trying since 2009 April w/ dr help,,,at first I was diagnosed w/ PCOS,,,was on metformin which didn't work,,the dr told me to take metformin and do OT and thats it (no hormone testing, nothing)...I switched to new one, she was nice and honest: she made it clear that probably I need RE but I decided stay with her and try clomid. It didn't work,,,I am seeing RE since Now 2010, we done with all testing (no more POSC, just unexplained infertility) and this cycle we plan clomid + IUI,,,to bad my body didn't react to 50mg (I tried to tell him that 50mg doesn't work because I tried it before, but he said I am skinny so he wants try with less), dr put me on 100mg last tuesday after test showed am not ovulating and tmr is another ultrasound....I have regular cycles and am usually ovulating on my on,,,I think clomid doesn't work to me,,,if he will try to put me on 150 I will say no, I feel inside that I don't want this med,,,I hope they won't kick me out :) Do they do IUI without medications>?

Ladies, sorry i've been MIA this past week!! Things have been crazy at work, and that's the only place I can get on to update anything or even talk because my phone sucks and my DH is always on his phone so it's kinda hard to get on here while i'm at home! (I'm so ready to get internet back at my house!!!)  I hope that everyone is doing good!

nishag: Hang in there girl! And I don't blame you for not wanting to stress during your 2ww! It makes things worse!!! I've got my fingers crossed for you!!!
