We are from Ohio, US. I have a 7 year old and a 2 year old. Or several months away from 3 and 8 anyway.

I would love to learn Dutch, so as long as somebody can fill me in on what's going on, I would love to meet live people.

I'd say: join the list, because there are a few more members who speak English and are slowly learning Dutch.

This list is aimed at organising meetings, not at having long conversations online.

We prefer live conversations!

So if there are a few more English speaking members, we might even make the messages bilingual,

that's no big effort.

Then you can understand everything and we can meet up easily.

I have a very good friend in Brussels who also speaks English and I'm sure she'd be delighted to meet new people!

I live in Ghent myself, but our plans with the yahoo-group are to meet regularly in Ghent and Bxl, so that it's close-by for everyone now and then, and a little trip now and then.

So, if you send me your email address, I can invite you directly to the group or you can join by using the link I mentioned above.

Warmly,

Annemie

I even tried to send a PM but it pops the message access denied can you PM to check if I am allowed to reply to you?

Do you speak English? We are moving there in 12 days, but will be staying in almost downtown Brussels until we find a house.

We're definitely looking to meet people.

Hi Barbara,

are you French-speaking?

Do you speak Dutch too?

We have set up a new email-list for meeting up with parents & children in Flanders, who feel inspired by the Continuum Concept (see the book by Jean Liedloff).

So the list is in Dutch and we meet up in Flanders.

If you're interested, here it is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/continuum-vl/

Another option is the mamaditi-forum: http://www.mamaditi.be/forum/

I hope this helps you some...

Warmly,

Annemie (Ghent)

Hello :)  I'm Barbara and I've been in Belgium for two years now.  My husband is a teacher in the Mons area.  I'd love to get together with other like minded mommas.

Well we should be there some time in mid-July. Not sure how I'm going to have everything ready by then, but I'm sure going to do my best.

Thank you. She's not allergic, but had some issues when she was younger and my younger daughter (who is 2) has had no vaccines. I wouldn't be against getting them 1. I just didn't want them to have to have 50 to catch up or anything.

I guess we'd be in Brussels. My husband has a job opportunity with the NATO thing (non-military though). We will be finding out next week if/when we will be going.

Hi Kelbud,

welcome to Belgium!

The only vaccine that is obliged here is polio, and if you can prove with a doctor's note that you child is allergic to the substances used in vaccines, it is legal to be unvaccinated, because this is considered as a valid reason to avoid all vaccines.

Where in Belgium will you be staying?

Feel welcome if you have other questions...

Warmly,

Annemie

We are possibly moving to Belgium. Do you happen to know what vaccines are required if any?

I have 2 kids one that is completely unvaxed and one that hasn't had any since 6 months.

Hi all

I was wondering if we can start a Belgium-group, because there are many mothers (and fathers) in Belgium who are into natural and loving ways of parenting. It would be lovely to connect.

Anyone interested in homebirth/homeschooling/meeting up/living your dream/... in Belgium?

I'm in Ghent and would love to meet up with new people!

Warmly,

Annemie
