Hello!  So, we have always had mice in our unattached garage and haven't really worried about them, since we have two cats in our house, they seemed to stay out.  But lately, our cat has been catching a mouse inside our house...  Two in last two weeks.

My husband found a rat living in the garage and we are thinking it is possible that it is causing the mice to seek alterative living arrangements inside our home?  I am just shocked that with all the cat litter boxes, fur, etc. they would enter our house.

I am wondering what your advise for killing the rat and controlling the mice would be.  We were thinking of buying a "rat zapper" to shock them, hoping that might be the most humane/ quickest death?  I can't think of anything else, it all makes my stomach hurt because I hate killing things.  But we are having a new baby girl any day now and this is NOT ok.

Also, in your opinion/experience, do you think our cats are catching ALL the mice in our home- meaning we've only had two- or thats just the tip of "miceberg" (haha)?

Thanks for any advice!
