Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I was literally in tears, crying because my Gram is gone and I am facing my little girl's first Christmas with no family support or involvement on my side and in-laws who are sweet but not like-minded.  I want my baby to have the same sort of holidays and birthdays that I did: connected, heartfelt, and mostly handmade.  I am hoping to sway the in-laws with these ideas.  If not, my husband and I can still make a commitment to keeping it in like spirit using them. blowkiss.gif

Thanks! We used an old bag to make a temporary flag at first and then a neighbour saw it and gave us the sail. :)

It's got so many different toys I want to make for my daughter.

I checked the link, and it says it's private.  greensad.gif  Does anyone know the owner so I might be able to be granted access?

You should!  It was fun to make, and it's a great way to use up leftover bits and pieces of yarn.

I'm so happy to have found this thread! Now I've got DH on board and almost a full year to make gifts for Christmas. Birthdays are in spring so I've still got a few months for those too. :)

It's inspired us to go totally handmade for our holidays for two years now.

I'm really pleased with how my efforts turned out this year. I took ideas from here but made them my own. I'd love to hear what you think of what I made this year.

Isn't making toys soooo much for fulfilling than buying them? I just love this thread.

Holy crap, that tree house is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!!!! How on earth did you make that? Any chance of you posting a tutorial??

Hi, always a fan of make at home toys and I have been online looking for ideas.  I also love eco friendly toys and found this great website for toys that children can make themselves and then play with for days on end.  Went on this site  http://horseplaycraftyparties.co.uk/Craft-Kits/Animals?zenid=80f0c04513ccd9cc94a6215d1ba93665 and got a few easter animal kits for my kids to make, much better than heaps of chocolate.  Have bought hobbyhorses from them before and my children loved them.  Great for parties too.  Hope this is of help.  Enjoy making!

Oh my goodness, I've saved a few pictures of the tree houses, but yours is unparalleled! How can I be satisfied with what I might cobble together after seeing its beauty?

What a GREAT idea!  But no, I don't have the time.  Maybe after the holidays we could work on it before next year... :)
