Amandamarie losing inches on the hips is always good!! You look like a gal who likes to move, it must be frustrating to be restrained, but the day will come when you'll be able to :) Good luck!

Amandamarie Congrats Jaxy and SweetSilver! smile.gif

Congrats Lilacvioletiris on 10 weeks. smile.gif

I ended up the same, but lost inches in my hips. Very frustrating. Ready for next challenge. I get to walk every day, this time. smile.gif

I lost 5.5 lbs instead of 8, but 5.5 is 5.5.  Pretty good.  Yes, I'll be there.

05-22-2013 07:18 AM

oohhh it's the end, I didn't see it coming ahah!

I am proud to say that I lost 10 lbs!! I feel so good!! Thank y'all for the encouragement!!

See ya in the next round :)

Here is the link to the next challenge to sign up for the beginning of summer.

05-22-2013 04:04 AM

Whoa, it is week 8 already.  I thought it was week 7.  Oops.  So here are the team totals for this challenge. By far, the purple team pulled away with several people losing 5% or more of their body weight in 8 weeks.  That is excellent.  I know that losses like that have significant health benefits and even little losses help a lot.

So here are the charts.

Who is ready for version 9 of the weight loss challenge?  I will post up a link here in a minute for the new one starting next Monday.

05-22-2013 03:46 AM

isaFrench, so you are saying that you are ready for another challenge to start once this one ends?  You have been going down a little at a time.

woodchick, I guess I have always seen myself as an encourager.  I know these challenges helped me when I wasn't pregnant to keep faithful to exercise even when I didn't lose. I totally spaced on the chart last week. But hopefully with summer here that will get better.

Jaxy, here is to another great week for you. Hopefully you will break into your goal weight range for this challenge.

C is for Cookie, congrats on the excellent 5K.  Glad that  some purging will be happening at  the house you are living in to make it more comfortable.  Goodluck with throwing things out.

SweetSilver, could you put more oomph into your chores to give you extra activity?  Maybe  dancing around as you sweep or vacuum. Walking in place while washing dishes.  The more movement the better.  Keep up the good work and definitely get your kids involved.

FillingMyQuiver, you can totally make it!  Just a little at a time and before you know it you will be in the 160's.

Katc8910, looks  like your good habits finally paid off.     Your weight has finally caught up with the good things you have been doing.

katelove,  we will start the next challenge asap.  I think it has helped not to have lag time between challenges that way our good habits stay strong.

micahh_mae, I am sorry to hear about your marriage challenges.  I pray that you will come to the best decision for you and your family.

AFM, I can't believe I will be 10 weeks pregnant tomorrow.  Crazy.  I have still been exercising so my first trimester weight gain has only been a couple pounds although I have been reading that with twins I should actually gain more first trimester. I am eating all the time and can't fathom eating more than I am. It is already about every 2 hours all waking hours.  Totally insane. But I want my babies to grow strong so I exercise (there is a prenatal swim class at the YMCA) and eat well.

SweetSilver I'm sure it's not easy with a few children. I am lucky to have my stay-at-home dh, although yesterday I started jogging with ds and the jogger stroller on the running track near my house and it was really nice! Otherwise I go while he naps and dh is home.

micae_mae ohhh I'm so sorry to read that! Don't beat yourself up, it must be stressful indeed!

I'm in the middle of a separation/divorce decision and I'm a stress eater. :(

Or something like that.... I really should do something.  I am busy 24/7 with the girls, and if given a choice of a 10 minute run and Sitting On My Ass, I tend to do the latter.  orngtongue.gif  But that's a thought.  I think dd1 might even be up to join me.

katelove 67.9kg (149.7lb) :-(

Very disappointing!

I would like to echo the PPs and say thank you very much Lilacvioletiris for all your encouragement and for your administration work. It is greatly appreciated.

I am also keen to start a new challenge ASAP. I came nowhere near meeting my goal but I did lose weight overall. So, with lots more to lose, I am eager to go again.

Sweetsilver can't you fit in a 10 mins run instead?

Well, I officially cannot buy a box of Petit Ecolier cookies just to get a goody in me.  For a while there I could leave that tempting second package, promising myself that I could have it for breakfast-dessert the next day, and I waited all afternoon, I ate dinner, I ate some tangelos, and that second package was waiting for me.  I could have told dh they were for him.  Ohhhh, but that is so not-my-style!  So, just two.  Three.  What the hell.

Nope.  No more Little Schoolboys for me.  Damn!  The cookie-and-chocolate selection is limited in single serving options.  Another favorite is Walker's shortbread with a snappy milk chocolate bar (Trader Joe's has a nice, Fair Trade bar that's organic and nicely priced).  But, yes, I can eat the entire box.  With the Willy-Wonka-size chocolate bar cracked and placed on top each cookie, that's, like, what?  A stick-and-a-half of butter?  Ritter-- too much chocolate, not enough cookie.  Chocolate croissant (the really French-style ones), good but hard to find.  And, well, not quite chocolatey enough for a goody, so I end up wanting a no-nut Sun Cup in addition to the croissant and I might as well be eating chunks straight off a stick of cold butter.

At least the rest of what I ate today was good!  And I will enjoy the aftertaste in my mouth, because that was a good...ahem Sheepish.gif...BOX of cookies!

Valid28 Up to 135 again. Sorry team.
05-20-2013 02:55 PM
ChristinaMac 140.5lbs here. Still to rockin it!
05-20-2013 12:56 PM

Weigh in for this week is 159.5. Finally made my way into the 50's

05-20-2013 12:48 PM
Katc8910 164.8. Progress!
05-20-2013 12:06 PM
Amandamarie 205 again. Did some walking yesterday. Less of a limp,so making progress. Dr's appt today. Praying he'll clear me to skate. It's been a long 6 month recovery.
05-20-2013 10:40 AM

170.8.  So close to my first goal of 170.

05-20-2013 08:03 AM

Finally, some progress.  Taking out the "big guns": trying to keep a food log because I've been doing some mindless snacking and eating waaaay too many chocolate chips.  Managing to fit it smallish walks here and there-- it's a start.  I think the biggest thing slowing me down is fitting in those walks on a regular basis, but it's hard in the spring--dh is a busy pro gardener, our own garden needs tending, dinner needs to be made, always, always, always something that needs to be done making going for a walk seem like a luxurious waste of time.  I know, it isn't, but I do need to choose between walk and finishing chores.

C is for Cookie

132.2 this week biggrinbounce.gif

I did my 5k this Friday and it was fun. Next day, I was sore. lol. So I took a break from exercising this weekend to give my muscles a chance to heal. We are happy to announce that we are FINALLY cleaning out the house. We got a dumpster and actually throwing stuff away. YAY! I won't feel so claustrophobic anymore. lol.

05-20-2013 07:30 AM

Arghhh sorry ladies- 152.

Been a stressful couple of weeks for us.  DH is leaving for 4 days this weekend to handle some family issues, leaving me with the 3 kids.... I think it is going to be another stressful week for me.  Lets see if I can get myself working out!

Sad to say I'm at 136. Guess we all know what time of the month it is for me! Yay!

05-20-2013 05:34 AM

I agree woodchick! Thanks lilac!!

181.9 for me! And I'm very surprised since I had gained a pound the whole week and was expecting a gain, not a loss! But yesterday was good, and lots of walking! Will I be able to see 180 ish by the end of this challenge?

05-20-2013 05:27 AM

I'm here, checking in at 211.

Considering the stress of the past weeks: funerals, wakes, selling a house, moving everything into storage, finding temporary housing, moving in, homeschooling, life living, etc... I'm not too disappointed.  Things are doing in the down direction, albeit slowly!

I echo IsaFrench!  Thank you, lilacvioletiris, for your dedication, even as your life changes!  I have found being a part of these challenges to be very helpful, as simple as they are!
