Lead the music? Aretha Franklin!!!

But even she might have a hard time w/ our church - many seem to be tone-deaf and our choir sometimes goes flat, but we do our best to make s joyful noise.

I wanted to clarify that in my church, our worship time together is not about worshiping any deity. I would not actually want any of the aforementioned celebrities to lead our worship- It would take away from the sanctity of worship and be more of a "show." In the past, people have lead the congregation in singing Beatles or Woody Guthrie tunes. I was thinking more along the lines of famous musicians whose music I'd like to sing along to during worship.

I wouldn't choose one. A 'celebrity' group would take the focus off the worship of God and become more of a performance - at least in our church, where in general we don't have 'worship leaders' at all. If I want to hear a particular group sing a particular hymn or Christian song, I'll listen to them at some other time, without the congregational singing getting in the way of the sound; if I want to worship in church, I'll sing without the distraction of a bunch of famous people up the front.

I believe so.

I absolutely LOVE Casting Crowns. Their lyrics are right on target.

I'm not a Christian music fan. So I will have to look up these bands.

As far a U2 they where a praise band in the beginning. RIGHT??

Soul-O For King & Country is terrific live. We saw them at church back in March and were instantly hooked.

Yes for Chris Tomlin. I also LOVE Gungor. Their music is beautiful and really inspiring. Oh and For King and Country. I also like the praise band at my church. They play all of the wonderful songs that I hear on the radio on the faith station. smile.gif

Soul-O I'm going safe here with either Reuben Morgan from Hillsong or Chris Tomlin. U2 would be pretty awesome though!
