I always like L.L Bean Mary Janes...My little one pretty much wore them all the time as a toddler and loved putting them on herself and doing the velcro...

slippers look substantial with rubber soles, easy to put on too. I had something similar when my son was two but they are no longer available (Modern Basics). His feet stayed warm and dry. I like your idea of an ankle boot too.

kanani My daughter is two and has been in flip flops all summer. She loves the autonomy of putting them on and taking them off by herself. As Fall draws near, I'm wondering if there are shoes that can offer her similar independence. The stride rights she wore in last Spring are too difficult for her to pull on... Any suggestions? Maybe booties with a wide neck? Looking for ideas.
