Katc8910 My 4yr old sometimes complains of it burning. When she does, the skin is def a bit red and irritated. I treat it by applying Weleda diaper cream and it always works like a charm. I am convinced that it's caused by not always wiping 100% after urinating and possibly letting some urine drip out (like when she's busy plaing and doesn't want to take a break to use the toilet). I think the urine irritates the skin. I've tried coconut oil too, but it never worked as well as the Weleda.

neycie Well, I only have my personal experience...reducing fruit and juice, especially strawberry/pineapple/citrus/carrots, as well as corn, white carbs, dairy and obviously, added sugar items (I know you said she is already gluten/dairy/soy free and recently citrus free) got rid of my pregnancy related yeast and irritaton issues. I wish I had links for you but for me I think it was blood sugar related. Even almond milk can have added sugar.

Krys123 Good point. Any suggestions on steps to take for that?

neycie That's good, I'm sure you are aware and she's fine. Although in general, I'm not sure how a doctor exam could rule that out. We had a good pediatrician as kids too, and abuse certainly occurs without bruises or hymen damage.
I wonder about reducing sugars in her diet? Hoping she outgrows it.

Krys123 Thank you for replying. Im not offended at all! We thought about that as well and she was checked out by a doctor and everything was okay.

neycie Growing up, a younger sister had constant irritation at a young age that was not helped by dietary changes, baths, rx creams, etc. It eventually came out that she was being abused and was unable to talk about it. Her mother insists she never suspected because she was a SAHM and didn't leave her with anyone, but the abuser was a close family member. I hope that is not a possibility with your daughter and you are not offended, but I had to mention.

My 4 year old daughter has been having problems in her private area for about a year now.  It comes and goes, depending on the treatments we have tried.  Lately it has been bad for her. We've seen 4 different doctors, all of them have taken swabs and urine samples with no positive results for anything. We've done a stool sample for yeast (which has been an issue before) and it came back negative as well.  A urologist said it's vaginitis. We air dry (sometimes using a blow dryer after showers to help dry area, no underwear at bedtime, all natural/allergy friendly wipes instead of toilet paper. We have switched all of our soaps, shampoos, etc to allergy friendly products. She does have food allergies, so her diet is limited to a gluten/dairy/soy free diet. We juice on a daily basis, 70% veggies & 30% Fruit...just recently taking citrus out of her diet (it's been about 2 weeks now) And no change.  We've taken baking soda baths, apple cider vinegar baths, epsom salt baths, with no luck!  She is now taking showers because it became unbearable for her to sit in water. The doctors won't prescribe her anything since nothing is coming back from the tests.  Her underwear isn't tight, I bought them bigger purposely for this reason. I currently use a yeast & anti itch cream twice a day externally.  This only seems to help a little.  She complains of it itching, burning when peeing and just hurting in general at random times of the day. I've heard of coconut oil helping, but am scared to use it internally.  We have a doctor appointment on Thursday, but knowing my doctor she will tell me not to use it as she doesn't really approve of our natural lifestyle and unfortunately she is the only one in our area that doesn't require vaccinations to be a patient, so we don't have a lot to choose from. I'm feeling lost and helpless and just want some relief for my baby girl!
