Xerxella Well, we'll try this.

tracyamber Yeah but I do think in the ttc forum there is " taking the scenic route to a bfp" which actually encompasses everyone. I do like the idea of having a thread like that here in the " infertility" forum also.......... Without is saying spring or fall because as we all know too well, sometimes you start in the spring but still trying in the winter.. Lol!

monkeyscience I'd love to see the one thread revived. We are TTC with fertility issues (PCOS), but aren't using ART. So I kind of don't really fit in anywhere.

TTC this Winter with a Little Help (Clomid, Injectibles, IUI, IVF, etc) seems like an all encompassing title that brings the ONE thread and the IVF thread together. I know I started out on the Infertility ONE thread, but once I knew we had to go the IVF route, I joined in on that discussion instead. It does seem like less people are posting on mdc these days but I am glad there were people going through similar experiences that I could join with when I needed them.

I wonder if we should go back to "Infertility ONE Thread" instead of keeping the IVF/IUI stuff separate? There are so few people posting on Mothering now, there hasn't even been a new ONE thread since February I think?

Xerxella Laggie - That sounds awesome. It really sounds like you're on the road! 9 days from now you'll be in Athens!!

tracy, anyone - What title should we use? I'm never good at thinking up catchy slogans.

TTC this Winter with a Little Help (Clomid, Injectibles, IUI, IVF or any other medical assistance) ??

I think that is a great idea because it will include everyone and it is much needed! Is there a less technical title that could be used? smile.gif

Xerxella - I do think it's time for a new thread, that's a great idea. It's really, really not spring anymore. How are you feeling?

I just got an email that the donor has started her cycle and we're looking at egg retrieval around December 15th. We arrive in Athens on the 13th, so hopefully it will all work out perfectly. I'm taking Estrace, baby aspirin, and 3 mg per day of Folic acid. They prescribed 5 mg of Folic, but I think 3 is plenty. They also said to take 75mg of aspirin, but all of the low dose pills here are 81 mg. Seems close enough.

I had to go to the bank twice to wire the money to the clinic, Canadian banks do not understand wire transfers at all. But they've received it now, so everything is in place.

Xerxella Laggie - How are things progressing?

Does anyone mind if I start a new thread, maybe labelled just ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) so that it would include more people and hopefully get more activity?

I had a baseline scan today, I had totally forgotten about the appointment until the phone rang with the clinic wondering where I was. Crap! So, no time to shower, I rushed over there (hitting every red light and getting stuck behind every dump truck, of course). Oh well. Apparently everything looked fine, although she had a hard time finding my ovaries. She was super gentle with the wand, but she kept apologizing for using too much pressure with it. At least I only have to go back there for one more scan.

KeliG Becky & Xerxella, There are never the right words for these moments. My heart goes out to you. Try not to give up hope for future chances.

Becky - I am so sorry :Hug

Xerxella - that sucks so much... Do you have to wait for the D & C, or can they do it right away? I hope they can do the testing and get some answers for you.

AFM - DH got his DNA fragmentation test results back, and they said that his DNA looks good. So at least we don't have to do double donor. This does mean that my eggs are not what they used to be, though. Which is what the doctors said all along, but I didn't really believe them. I mean, I know that at 39 I shouldn't expect to have great quality eggs, but somehow I imagined I would be lucky that way.

X and Becky - I am sorry. I am thinking of both of you. :Hug

Sourire X - I'm so sorry you're going through this again. That just sucks. I hope they can find answers from this to prevent it from happening in the future.

Becky8824 I'm sorry Xerxella. Those words don't make it better. Trust me I know. I hope u get answers. Take some time for yourself. I'll be checking in. I may need some extra support.

tracyamber Oh X
I am sorry to hear this! I am curious too what is going on. Please let us know the test results. How long will it take?
Big hugs to you and I am sorry

I'm so sorry X and Becky.

Xerxella Sorry Becky. hug.gif

It's a bad news day. No heartbeat. Everything measuring small. Gestational sac should've been about 15mm. It was 5.

I'm working on getting a doc to do an embryoscopy. This is where, before the d&c, they take a direct sample of the bean so you can be sure you're getting genetic testing from the right spot. I have to know. Do I just make incompetent embryos or is my uterus that hostile?
11-20-2013 10:48 PM
tracyamber Becky- sorry about your negative!

Becky8824 Beta was Zero. I'm out greensad.gif

Becky8824 Xerxella. I haven't poas because last time when my blood test was positve the stick was negative. They drew my blood this morning at 9 and said it would only take 4 hours. It's been over 5. I called and the nurse is with a new patient. I called the girl who did it at their satellite office and no answer. I'm starting to think the worse. I'm so nervous and this waiting is terrible. The TWW went by because I only had to wait ten 10 days but the last five hours are killing me.

I really hope you get your answers. So frustrating. I'm hoping and praying for you.

Xerxella - I am hoping against hope. I am not a religious person but still, praying. :1praying

I will be thinking about you tomorrow and hope for good news!
11-20-2013 06:08 AM
Xerxella Well I'm going tomorrow for the u/s. Actually there has to be a heartbeat by 5w5d or there never will be. Of course, you have to know your dates exactly and have good u/s equipment. I'll be 6 weeks exactly tomorrow.
11-18-2013 12:32 PM
Sourire X - I'm sorry to hear your betas are incresing so sliwly. If you went for an u/s now you could rule out ectopic right? And it's too early for a heartbeat so you wouldn't have to stress out about not seeing it. I would get the u/s for sure... ectopic pregnancies are no joke.
11-18-2013 11:05 AM
Xerxella Becky - how's the 2ww coming? Are you going to test early? I'm a horrible POAS pusher, so you probably shouldn't listen to me... (We've done all testing possible and have no real answers).

AFM - HCG at 1172 today. That's 5 days later. So an official 111 hour doubling time. The docs worried about ectopic, but I'm not. It doesn't feel ectopic to me, just blighted ovum-ish. I really don't want to go in for an u/s now. But I also don't want to risk any fertility I do have with my tubes. I don't know what to do.
11-13-2013 10:44 PM
Becky8824 Hello ladies....I'm back. In the 2ww after our second IVF 11/10/13. So been reading through everyone's updates.

Laggie the shots are easy. I usually have my fiancé give me them but he will be out of town tomorrow so I tried it tonight. Piece of cake. You will be fine.

Xerxella. I don't know your story. Any info as to why you are having miscarriages? Clotting disorder? Positive for MTHFR? Did you do genetic testing?
11-13-2013 06:49 PM
Sourire X - Man it sucks being in limbo like that. How are you feeling right now? Is it stressing you out a lot or do you "get used to" this kind of situation after having been through it so many times? Either way I hope you can keep distracted for the next 2 weeks so that time goes by fast. Weren't you supposed to do some genetic testing on your frosties to see if there was something wrong with all your great looking embryos? Is that still on the table?
